A leadership opportunity for an experienced Christian educator or institutional leader to guide the School of Chaplaincy under the mission and values of AGC Tenwek Hospital.
The Principal will provide Christian leadership to staff and students while taking responsibility for the School’s academic direction, operations, strategic development, financial stewardship, and relationships with key church and education stakeholders.
The position reports to the Tenwek Hospital Management Committee and serves as Official Secretary to the School of Chaplaincy Management Committee.
The leadership brief
The Principal will:
Oversee the School’s daily operations and academic activities.
Lead strategic planning and translate approved plans into action.
Maintain a clear direction for the School that supports worldwide mission and continuous improvement.
Ensure the School’s vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities are understood by staff, students, stakeholders, and the wider supporting community.
Review strategic performance regularly and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Maintain high teaching standards and encourage effective, innovative approaches to learning.
Ensure curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment processes meet appropriate quality and accreditation requirements.
Support academic staff through mentoring, development, training, and performance management.
Encourage staff involvement in student recruitment and promotion of the School.
Oversee staff goal-setting and performance monitoring.
Promote responsible Christian stewardship of School resources.
Work with the School Accountant and Management Committee on budgets and financial reporting.

What you’ll need
Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, Chaplaincy, Education, Leadership, or a related discipline.
Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, Chaplaincy, or a related field.
Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Training of Trainers, or another recognized pedagogical qualification.
TVETA trainer registration and valid licensing where applicable.

AGC Tenwek Hospital is seeking a legal professional to provide practical counsel across clinical risk, employment matters, contracts, litigation, data protection, governance, and financial recovery.
This position is designed for someone who can turn legal requirements into workable guidance while helping the Hospital reduce exposure to regulatory, financial, medical-legal, and reputational risks.
Areas of responsibility
Clinical and medical-legal matters
You will advise on medical negligence claims, patient complaints, adverse events, incident reports, consent frameworks, patient rights, and related medico-legal procedures. The role also involves coordinating with insurers, external advocates, and clinical leadership on claims and litigation strategy.
Employment matters
The Legal Officer will advise HR and management on disciplinary processes, grievances, suspensions, terminations, appeals, labour disputes, union engagements, conciliations, and court matters.
Contracts and agreements
The position will review, draft, and vet contracts, MOUs, SLAs, consultancy arrangements, supplier agreements, and partnerships. You will also maintain the central contracts register and advise departments on interpretation, enforcement, expiry dates, and legal risk.
Litigation
You will coordinate the Hospital’s legal cases across medical, labour, commercial, and data protection matters. This includes working with external counsel, insurers, regulators, and courts, monitoring case costs and timelines, preparing status reports, and supporting appropriate settlements.
