About the Role

The SD-WAN NOC Engineer will monitor and provide first-level support for multivendor SD-WAN environments. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, coordinating incident resolution and helping maintain network availability and customer service-level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor SD-WAN devices, WAN connections, tunnels, alarms and overall network performance.

• Troubleshoot connectivity problems, packet loss, latency, routing issues and device faults.

• Record, prioritize and follow up on incidents according to agreed SLAs.

• Gather diagnostic information and escalate unresolved issues to L2 teams.

• Coordinate with internet service providers, field engineers and customer teams to restore services.

• Assist with device onboarding, equipment replacement, post-change checks and shift handovers.

• Maintain accurate incident updates, reports and troubleshooting records.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela), including vManage, vSmart, vBond, cEdge/vEdge, OMP, TLOCs and IPsec.

• Knowledge of VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud), including Orchestrator, Edges, Gateways, DMPO and link monitoring.

• Knowledge of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, SD-WAN and IPsec VPNs.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT and routing.

• Familiarity with CLI troubleshooting, ping, traceroute, network monitoring and ticketing tools.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech., BCA, B.Sc. in IT/Computer Science, Diploma or equivalent experience.

• CCNA or another relevant vendor certification is an advantage.

• Hands-on experience with at least one of the listed SD-WAN platforms is preferred.

SD-WAN L2 Engineer

Working Hours: Rotational Shifts + On-Call Support
Reporting To: NOC Manager / Network Operations Manager

About the Role

The SD-WAN L2 Engineer will provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting and configuration across multivendor SD-WAN environments. The position will take ownership of escalated incidents, implement approved network changes and provide technical support and guidance to L1 engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve escalated SD-WAN, routing, tunnelling, security and application performance issues.

• Diagnose overlay and underlay failures, packet loss, latency, jitter, MTU and routing problems.

• Configure and troubleshoot traffic steering, QoS, network segmentation and WAN failover.

• Support device onboarding, configuration deployment, equipment replacement, upgrades and backups.

• Troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, IPsec VPNs, NAT and LAN/WAN integration.

• Carry out approved changes while following appropriate validation and rollback procedures.

• Examine logs and packet captures and perform root cause analysis.

• Coordinate with OEMs, ISPs, field engineers and customers during incidents.

• Guide and mentor L1 engineers while maintaining technical documentation and SOPs.

Technical Expertise

• Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela): vManage, vSmart, vBond, cEdge/vEdge, OMP, TLOCs, BFD, IPsec, policies and segmentation.

• VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud): Orchestrator, Edges, Gateways, Business Policies, DMPO, HA and routing integration.

• Fortinet Secure SD-WAN: FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, SD-WAN rules, IPsec, routing and HA.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, NAT, QoS, IPsec and network segmentation.

• Experience working with MPLS, leased lines, broadband and LTE/5G backup connections.

• Proficiency in CLI troubleshooting, packet capture and incident/change management.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of networking experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on SD-WAN support.

• Strong expertise in at least one of the listed SD-WAN platforms and working knowledge of the others.

• Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.

• CCNP or relevant vendor certification is preferred.

• Strong communication, incident ownership and documentation skills.

• Knowledge of scripting, APIs or network automation is an advantage.
