Supply Chain Officer
Administration Assistant
Overall purpose of the role: - Supply Chain Officer
The Supply Chain Officer is responsible for managing the supply chain functions, including procurement and logistics, for the DRC program in Mandera.
This includes handling all tasks related to procurement, fleet and transport, assets, and the warehouse/stores at the Mandera field office.The officer must ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in line with the rules and standards set by relevant donors and in accordance with DRC guidelines.They will also advise the Team Leader of Finance & Administration on procurement and logistics matters, providing input for budgets and project proposals related to these areas.Additionally, the officer will offer technical support and training in supply chain practices to the program team in Mandera.
Experience and technical competencies:
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in supply chain management, specifically in areas like logistics, procurement, warehousing, and inventory management.
At least 3 years of this experience should have been in an NGO or INGO setting.Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is required.A good understanding of the local market and relevant local legislation related to contracts is necessary.Knowledge of the supply chain rules and regulations of major international donors, particularly those related to procurement, assets, fleet, and warehouse operations, is essential.Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are required.Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills are important.A commitment to humanitarian principles and values is necessary.The candidate should also be committed to and understand DRC's mission, values, and principles.A working knowledge of both written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
A university degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or Economics is preferred.
The candidate should also be a member of a recognized professional body such as KISM or CIPS, in good standing.
Experience and Technical Skills: - Administration Assistant
Should hold a diploma in Business Administration or have relevant training.
At least two years of experience in an administrative or support role within a humanitarian or development setting.
Experience working in urban areas and with vulnerable groups is a plus.
Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the internet.
Ability to maintain clear and organized records.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
Good command of both English and Kiswahili.
Conditions:
Job type: 5-month contract, with potential for extension depending on funding and performance.
