Assistant Accountant – Oil And Gas

Job Role
The Assistant Accountant will support daily financial activities within the oil and gas sector. The position involves maintaining accounting records, preparing reports, performing reconciliations, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to relevant financial and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Records
Prepare journal entries and update general ledger accounts.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
Reconcile bank accounts and supplier balances.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Assist with financial statements and management reports.
Ensure accounting activities comply with IFRS and applicable oil and gas regulations.
Support statutory reporting and tax compliance requirements.
Audit & Internal Controls
Prepare documentation required for internal and external audits.
Support audit processes and respond to information requests.
Monitor compliance with established financial policies and controls.
Budgeting & Cost Management
Assist with preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Monitor project expenditure and operational costs.
Provide timely information to support cost management.
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with procurement, operations, and project teams on financial matters.
Assist with financial analysis relating to oil and gas projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA or ACCA qualification, at least Part II.
2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within the oil and gas or energy industry.
Good understanding of IFRS and sector-specific accounting practices.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is an added advantage.
Knowledge of taxation applicable to the oil and gas sector will be an added advantage.

Job Role
The Tendering Officer will oversee the preparation, submission, and administration of tenders within the aviation industry. The role requires careful attention to procurement requirements, accurate documentation, timely submissions, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Preparation & Submission
Prepare complete tender submissions in accordance with applicable aviation procurement requirements.
Review tender documents and identify all mandatory requirements.
Ensure submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered within specified deadlines.
Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate with finance and legal departments on financial and contractual requirements.
Monitor tender schedules, submission deadlines, and outcomes.
Ensure tender activities comply with applicable procurement policies and procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain organized records of submitted and ongoing tenders.
Keep accurate documentation throughout the tendering process.
Prepare regular tender progress reports and summaries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant experience in tendering or procurement, preferably within aviation.
Knowledge of aviation procurement requirements and compliance procedures.
CIPS certification is an added advantage.
Experience working with ERP-based procurement systems will be an added advantage.
