Inventory Officer

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and accurate stock counts, investigate inventory variances, and update inventory records to maintain stock accuracy.
Monitor inventory movements and ensure discrepancies are identified, reconciled, and resolved promptly.

Organize the storage of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to maximize storage efficiency and ensure easy retrieval.
Maintain orderly warehouse operations while ensuring inventory is stored in accordance with established procedures.

Coordinate inventory control activities for coconut stocks across various collection centers, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of stock balances.

Supervise warehouse assistants by providing guidance, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with inventory handling and storage procedures.
Promote adherence to workplace safety standards and operational best practices.

Maintain accurate inventory records, including bin cards and stock movement documentation.
Ensure all inventory transactions are properly documented and comply with company policies and internal controls.

Monitor stock levels and review reorder points for packaging materials and production inputs to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Analyze inventory data, prepare periodic reports, and provide recommendations to improve inventory management and operational efficiency.
Report obsolete, damaged, or slow-moving inventory to the Inventory Manager to facilitate timely corrective action.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline. Candidates who are CPA finalists will also be considered.
Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or accounting.
Good understanding of inventory management principles, stock control procedures, and warehouse operations.
Practical experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to reside and work in Lamu, with prior work experience in the region considered essential.

Provide strategic financial guidance to support business profitability, pricing decisions, working capital optimization, risk management, and business expansion initiatives.
Manage trade finance operations, including Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, documentary collections, and structured trade finance facilities.
Oversee treasury operations by managing liquidity, cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements across the business.
Monitor foreign exchange exposure, commodity price fluctuations, and counterparty risks while supporting the implementation of appropriate hedging strategies.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and profitability analysis to support informed business decisions.
Supervise accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and month-end and year-end financial close processes.
Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), taxation requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal control frameworks.
Develop and enhance finance systems, reporting processes, automation initiatives, and scalable financial controls across multiple countries.
Coordinate internal and external audits while strengthening governance, compliance, and financial risk management practices.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while collaborating closely with commercial, logistics, procurement, and supply chain departments.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related discipline.
A Master's degree, MBA, or a recognized professional accounting or finance qualification will be considered an added advantage.
Eight to ten years of progressive experience in senior finance or accounting roles within the logistics or supply chain industry.
Strong knowledge of trade finance, treasury management, IFRS, financial reporting, cash management, and working capital optimization.
Experience managing cross-border taxation, multinational regulatory compliance, and financial management systems.
Knowledge of foreign exchange management, commodity pricing, hedging strategies, and supply chain finance is desirable.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel together with excellent analytical, leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
Strong technical expertise in financial management, governance, and business performance analysis.
