Junior Architect
Site Supervisor
Junior Architect
We are looking for a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Junior Architect to join our Architecture team.
The successful candidate will support the design, documentation, coordination, and delivery of construction projects. This role is ideal for an architect who has strong technical drawing skills, understands architectural detailing, and is highly proficient in Autodesk Revit.
The Junior Architect will work closely with senior architects and other professionals to develop practical, accurate, and construction-ready architectural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Preparing architectural drawings
Develop concept, schematic, and detailed architectural drawings using Autodesk Revit.
Prepare accurate plans, elevations, sections, and working drawings.
Ensure drawings meet project requirements and established standards.
Make revisions and updates based on project feedback.
Construction documentation
Produce detailed construction documentation for different stages of projects.
Prepare schedules, working drawings, and other technical documentation.
Ensure drawings contain accurate dimensions, specifications, annotations, and details.
Maintain consistency and accuracy across project documentation.
Architectural detailing
Develop high-quality architectural details suitable for construction.
Apply a good understanding of building materials and construction methods.
Ensure architectural details are practical, accurate, and clearly communicated through drawings.
Assist senior architects in resolving technical design and detailing issues.
Design coordination
Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements.
Work with structural engineers, MEP consultants, quantity surveyors, and other project professionals.
Identify potential conflicts between different disciplines and assist in resolving them.
Ensure coordinated information is reflected accurately in project drawings.
Site inspections and technical support
Assist with site inspections and project visits.
Prepare site inspection reports where required.
Record construction progress and identify issues that may affect project delivery.
Assist in responding to technical queries from contractors and other project stakeholders.
Support the architectural team in monitoring construction against approved drawings.
3D modelling and presentations
Prepare accurate 3D architectural models.
Produce presentation drawings and visual materials.
Assist with architectural renderings and project presentations.
Use visualization software to communicate design concepts effectively.
Project documentation
Maintain organized and up-to-date project files.
Ensure architectural documentation follows established company standards.
Apply GGL drawing standards consistently across assigned projects.
Keep track of drawing revisions and ensure the correct information is issued.
Support to senior architects
Assist senior architects with project coordination and design development.
Support the preparation of project documentation and presentations.
Carry out assigned technical and design tasks within agreed timelines.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions where appropriate.
Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture from a recognized university or college.
1–2 years of relevant architectural experience.
Experience gained through internships or industrial attachments will be an added advantage.
Practical understanding of architectural design and construction documentation.
Ability to work effectively within a professional architectural team.
Site Supervisor
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Site Supervisor to oversee daily construction activities and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
The Site Supervisor will coordinate workers, subcontractors, materials, and site activities while ensuring that construction work follows approved architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and agreed timelines.
The successful candidate will also act as the main link between the construction site and the project management team, ensuring that information, instructions, progress updates, and any site issues are communicated promptly.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities at the construction site.
Duties will include:
Supervising daily construction activities.
Assigning tasks to skilled workers and casual labourers.
Ensuring construction work follows approved drawings and specifications.
Monitoring the progress and productivity of workers.
Checking the quality of workmanship throughout the project.
Identifying and resolving site-related technical and operational challenges.
Ensuring activities are completed according to the project schedule.
Coordinating different construction activities to avoid unnecessary delays.
2. Workforce Management
The Site Supervisor will oversee workers involved in different construction trades, including:
Masons.
Carpenters.
Electricians.
Plumbers.
Painters.
Steel fixers.
Casual labourers.
Other skilled artisans and subcontractors.
Responsibilities will include:
Allocating daily duties to workers.
Conducting toolbox talks before work begins.
Monitoring worker attendance and punctuality.
Tracking labour productivity.
Maintaining accurate daily attendance records.
Supporting teamwork and good working relationships among site workers.
Mentoring junior workers where appropriate.
Identifying performance or disciplinary issues.
Reporting serious disciplinary matters to management.
3. Quality Assurance
The Site Supervisor will ensure that construction work meets the required quality standards.
This will involve:
Inspecting completed and ongoing works.
Checking work against approved drawings and specifications.
Identifying construction defects and workmanship issues.
Coordinating corrective actions where defects are identified.
Conducting regular quality inspections throughout the project.
Ensuring construction work meets client expectations.
Monitoring the quality of materials and workmanship used on site.
Reporting quality concerns to the relevant project manager.
4. Project Coordination
The Site Supervisor will coordinate site activities with the wider project team.
This will include working closely with:
Project Managers.
Quantity Surveyors.
Architects.
Engineers.
Subcontractors.
Suppliers.
Clients and consultants.
Key duties will include:
Coordinating daily site activities with the project team.
Monitoring progress against the approved work schedule.
Identifying potential delays and project risks.
Communicating delays and challenges promptly.
Reporting resource requirements to management.
Participating in site meetings.
Supporting progress reviews.
Ensuring instructions from the project management team are implemented correctly.
5. Material Management
The Site Supervisor will help ensure construction materials are properly received, stored, used, and accounted for.
Responsibilities will include:
Receiving materials delivered to the construction site.
Checking delivered materials against orders and delivery documentation.
Reporting damaged, incorrect, or insufficient materials.
Ensuring proper storage and handling of materials.
Monitoring material consumption.
Reducing unnecessary material wastage.
Maintaining accurate material inventory records.
Monitoring material requirements.
Informing management about expected material shortages in advance.
Ensuring materials are used appropriately and efficiently.
6. Health, Safety and Environment
Safety is a key responsibility of the Site Supervisor.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Enforce workplace health and safety requirements.
Ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct daily site safety inspections.
Identify and report unsafe conditions.
Encourage workers to follow safe working practices.
Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Support investigations of site incidents where required.
Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Promote a strong safety culture across the construction site.
7. Documentation and Reporting
The Site Supervisor will maintain accurate and up-to-date construction records.
This will include:
Preparing daily site reports.
Preparing and submitting weekly progress reports.
Maintaining site diaries.
Recording daily labour attendance.
Recording equipment usage.
Maintaining construction records.
Tracking completed works against the project schedule.
Documenting site issues and corrective actions.
Reporting project delays and recommending possible solutions.
Keeping project documentation organized and accessible.
8. Client and Stakeholder Relations
The Site Supervisor will represent GGL professionally when dealing with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders on site.
Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating site visits with clients and consultants.
Supporting communication between the client and site team.
Responding professionally to client queries.
Escalating complex issues to project management.
Maintaining positive relationships with neighbours.
Coordinating with suppliers and service providers.
Working with local authorities where required.
Maintaining professional conduct at all times.
Key Performance Indicators
