Position Overview
The Youth, Gender and Community Engagement Coordinator will lead efforts to ensure that young persons with disabilities, especially young women, are meaningfully reached, selected, supported and involved in the Inclusive Africa Program (IAP). The role will strengthen relationships with Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and communities while promoting gender-responsive participation, safeguarding, reasonable accommodation, youth feedback and ethical storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Outreach, Selection and Participation
Develop and implement inclusive youth outreach and participation plans in partnership with OPDs and country partners.
Coordinate transparent and accessible participant identification and selection processes based on approved criteria and programme targets.
Maintain participant engagement schedules, communication protocols, attendance records and participation information together with delivery and MEL teams.
Establish accessible ways for young people to contribute to programme design, implementation, governance, learning and accountability.
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion
Act as the programme gender focal point and support the integration of gender analysis, targets, risk mitigation and responsive actions across programme activities.
Identify barriers affecting young women with disabilities and other underserved participants and recommend practical changes to recruitment, scheduling, communication, travel and learning arrangements.
Work with women-led organisations and organisations representing women with disabilities to strengthen safe participation, leadership and visibility opportunities.
Support staff and partners in applying youth-friendly, intersectional and disability-inclusive approaches.
Safeguarding and Participant Wellbeing
Serve as a programme safeguarding focal point in line with inABLE's safeguarding framework, referral procedures and separation-of-duties requirements.
Coordinate safeguarding orientations, codes of conduct, safe reporting information and refresher sessions for staff, consultants, partners and participants.
Receive safeguarding concerns and promptly escalate them through authorised confidential channels without investigating matters beyond the responsibilities of the position.
Maintain secure and access-controlled safeguarding records and support survivor-centred referrals, incident follow-up and risk mitigation as required.
Carry out participant safety and accessibility risk assessments covering training, internships, travel, digital activities, storytelling and public events.
Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodation
Coordinate participant-led assessments and accommodation plans covering accessible formats, captioning, sign-language interpretation, connectivity assistance, personal support, transportation and venue accessibility.
Work with Finance, Convening, Skilling teams and service providers to ensure required accommodations are properly budgeted, delivered on time and reviewed with participants.
Monitor the accessibility of both virtual and physical activities and record corrective actions where improvements are needed.
Ensure all support arrangements uphold dignity, participant choice, confidentiality and informed consent.
Community and OPD Partnerships
Build and maintain respectful relationships with OPDs, youth-led organisations, families or caregivers where appropriate, and community partners.
Coordinate partner orientation, clarify roles and follow up on feedback and issues involving outreach and participant support.
Help strengthen OPD capacity in inclusive facilitation, safeguarding, gender-responsive engagement, ethical storytelling and basic programme documentation.
Ensure community concerns and feedback are considered in programme decisions and addressed through clear response and follow-up processes.
Youth Voice, Stories and Learning
Coordinate the ethical identification and collection of stories of change while ensuring informed consent, accessible participation and protection from harm or exploitation.
Support youth speakers, advocates and advisory members in preparing for policy, media, conference and governance engagements.
Work with MEL and Communications teams to collect qualitative evidence while protecting confidentiality and participant ownership.
Contribute to reports and learning reviews covering participation, gender, safeguarding and community engagement.
Education and Professional Qualifications
Master’s degree in Gender and Development, Community Development, Youth Development, Disability Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, International Development or a related discipline.
Recognised training in safeguarding, protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, gender equality, psychosocial first aid, case referral or disability inclusion is required or must be obtained after appointment.
Training in accessible facilitation, reasonable accommodation, participatory approaches or qualitative research is an added advantage.
Required Experience
8–10 years of progressive experience in youth, gender, disability inclusion, community engagement, safeguarding or rights-based programmes.
Demonstrated experience working with young persons with disabilities, OPDs and community partners in programme design and implementation.
Experience serving as a safeguarding focal point or implementing safeguarding, confidential reporting and referral systems.
Strong background in gender-responsive programmes and addressing intersectional barriers affecting young women with disabilities.
Experience coordinating accessible training, events, travel or digital participation across different locations.
Experience in ethical storytelling, informed consent, qualitative data collection or youth advisory processes is desirable.
Finance and Administration Manager

Position Overview
The Finance and Administration Manager will oversee financial management, grant controls and administrative operations for the Inclusive Africa Program. The position will ensure that programme resources are properly planned, used, documented and reported in accordance with approved budgets, donor requirements, inABLE policies and statutory obligations.
The role will also support effective delivery across multiple countries through budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, logistics, partner support, audit preparation and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and preparation of costed workplans.
Monitor expenditure, commitments, burn rates and budget variances and recommend corrective measures.
Review expenses to confirm budget availability, eligibility, required approvals and value for money.
Grants Management
Maintain controls covering donor budgets, codes, restrictions, deadlines and approval requirements.
Track grant income, disbursements, restricted funds, cost-sharing arrangements and in-kind contributions.
Review partner budgets, agreements, disbursements, liquidations, due diligence processes and financial monitoring actions.
Financial Reporting
Prepare accurate management, donor, programme and statutory financial reports within required timelines.
Reconcile financial reports with accounting records, bank statements, grant schedules and approved budgets.
Prepare variance analyses, forecasts, explanations and complete supporting audit trails.
Board Financial Reporting and Governance
Prepare updates for the Board and Finance Committee covering budget performance, cash flow, grant utilisation and financial risks.
Develop dashboards, tables and explanatory notes to support effective financial oversight.
Track finance-related Board decisions, actions, deadlines and matters requiring escalation.
Audit and Compliance
Maintain finance, grant, procurement, contract, payroll and administrative records in an audit-ready condition.
Coordinate audits, donor reviews and compliance assessments, including preparation of schedules, supporting evidence and responses.
Monitor audit and review findings until they are resolved.
Escalate issues involving fraud, conflicts of interest, ineligible expenditure or weaknesses in internal controls.
Internal Controls and Transactions
Review payments, invoices, advances, petty cash, bank transactions and mobile-money transactions.
Ensure that appropriate approvals, supporting documents, reconciliations and segregation of duties are followed.
Maintain payment schedules and recommend improvements to financial controls.
Administration and Operations Support
Oversee programme administration, office coordination, correspondence, filing, travel and logistics.
Coordinate accessible arrangements for training sessions, meetings, policy dialogues, internships and conferences.
Support procurement, contracting, supplier monitoring, invoice verification and asset management.
Maintain secure records and guide staff, partners and consultants on finance, grants, procurement, travel and compliance procedures.
Education and Professional Qualifications
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Public Administration or a related field.
A strong bachelor’s degree combined with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
Training in grant management, donor compliance, procurement, risk management, fraud prevention, disability inclusion, safeguarding, gender equality or data protection is an added advantage.
Required Experience
8–10 years of progressive experience in finance, grants, administration or operations, including responsibility for a significant programme, grant or cost centre.
Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded budgets, financial reporting, audits, procurement, contracting, compliance, partner due diligence and financial monitoring.
Experience supporting multi-country or regional programmes involving different currencies, partners, service providers, travel, events and logistics.
Experience in disability inclusion, youth programmes, civil society or international development is strongly desirable.
