Clinical Officer – Specialized Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Clinic (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose, treat, and provide follow-up care for patients living with chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic kidney disease, obesity, and other non-communicable diseases.

• Develop personalized treatment and care plans based on evidence-based clinical guidelines and monitor patient progress to optimize health outcomes.

• Educate and counsel patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, medication adherence, and long-term self-management strategies.

• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure patients receive appropriate specialist care when required.

• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and the development or review of NCD management protocols.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records within the hospital's electronic medical records (EMR) system.

• Support the professional growth of nursing staff through mentorship, clinical guidance, and participation in continuous professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.

• A valid practicing license and current registration with the Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.

• A postgraduate qualification in Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Management from a recognized training institution.

• A minimum of three years' experience managing patients with chronic illnesses in a hospital, specialized clinic, or outpatient setting.

• Excellent clinical assessment, patient communication, and counseling skills.

Branch Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, ethical standards, and the Jacaranda Code of Conduct.

• Monitor service delivery standards and ensure staff consistently provide high-quality customer and patient care.

• Assume full responsibility for branch operations, patient care coordination, and personnel management on a 24-hour basis.

• Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives developed with senior management to enhance operational efficiency and branch performance.

• Provide leadership, supervision, and support to clinical and operational teams, ensuring effective coordination across departments.

• Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Lead to evaluate branch performance, identify operational improvement opportunities, develop action plans, and oversee implementation of quality initiatives.

• Analyze operational, financial, and clinical data to improve patient outcomes, service quality, and organizational performance.

• Establish, monitor, and support departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring branch objectives and quality standards are consistently achieved.

• Maintain and promote departmental quality assurance standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Forecast departmental workload, service demand, and resource requirements while conducting cost analyses and monitoring budget performance.

• Evaluate the utilization of human, financial, and material resources and implement corrective measures to maximize efficiency.

• Work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare, implement, and monitor the facility's annual operating budget.

• Perform any other duties assigned by management in support of organizational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A bachelor's degree in a recognized medical or healthcare-related field. Additional qualifications in Business Administration or Health Systems Management will be an added advantage.

• A valid and active professional practicing license issued by the relevant medical regulatory body.

• At least five years of post-qualification experience as a licensed healthcare professional, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a busy healthcare facility.

• Previous experience as a Hospital Administrator, Branch Manager, or in a similar healthcare management position will be considered an added advantage.
