About the Role
Kisii Water and Sanitation PLC is seeking a results-oriented and ethical professional to coordinate and oversee revenue collection activities. The successful candidate will support the achievement of collection targets, manage outstanding debts and contribute to the financial sustainability of the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement revenue collection strategies and set monthly, quarterly and annual collection targets.
Monitor collection efficiency, billing-to-collection ratios and debtor ageing, and prepare regular reports.
Follow up overdue accounts through reminders, demand notices, disconnections and reconnections in accordance with company policies.
Negotiate and manage payment plans for customers with outstanding balances.
Manage key accounts, including institutions, government agencies, commercial and industrial customers.
Oversee collection points, mobile money, bank and prepaid payment channels.
Ensure daily banking and reconciliation of customer receipts.
Identify and address revenue leakages, fraud and cash-handling risks.
Promote digital and convenient payment options.
Prepare monthly and annual revenue reports for management and the Board.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, tariffs and service standards.
Conduct customer sensitisation on bill payment, water conservation and the consequences of non-payment.
Supervise, mentor and appraise revenue and customer service staff assigned to the section.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Diploma in Business Management, Accounting, CPA II or a related field.
Training or certification in credit control, customer relationship management or utility management is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience in revenue collection, credit control, billing or commercial operations.
At least 2 years of experience in a utility or service-based organisation such as a water company, microfinance institution or similar sector.
Proven ability to meet or exceed collection targets.
Experience with billing and customer management systems is an added advantage.
Supervisory experience is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of utility tariffs, credit control and debt recovery practices.
Understanding of the water sector regulatory framework and customer service standards.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and billing software.
Excellent negotiation, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and lead a team.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili or the local language of the service area.
Working Conditions
Regular field visits to customer premises, collection points and service areas.
May require working beyond normal working hours.
Performance Indicators
Collection efficiency against set targets.
Reduction in debtor days and ageing balances.
Timely and accurate billing of accounts.
Reduction in commercial losses and unauthorised connections.
Customer complaint resolution turnaround time.

Job Purpose
The Driver will safely and efficiently operate company vehicles used to transport staff, materials, equipment and water service teams. The role also involves maintaining assigned vehicles in good working condition to support reliable water supply and sanitation operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Driving and Transport
Drive company vehicles, including cars, pick-ups, lorries and water bowsers, as assigned.
Transport staff and officials safely and on schedule.
Conduct daily pre-trip inspections covering tyres, oil, water, brakes, lights and fuel.
Report vehicle defects and mechanical problems promptly.
Keep assigned vehicles clean, secure and roadworthy.
Arrange scheduled servicing and repairs through the Transport Officer.
Ensure vehicle insurance, inspection and licensing documents remain valid.
Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks covering trips, mileage, fuel consumption and servicing.
Report accidents, breakdowns and other incidents immediately and complete the required reports.
Maintain fuel and maintenance receipts and submit them for reconciliation.
Observe traffic laws, company transport policies and occupational health and safety requirements.
Ensure loads are properly secured and passengers use seat belts.
Use company vehicles and equipment only for authorised official purposes.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the role.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
KCSE or equivalent, with a minimum grade of D+.
Valid Kenyan Driving Licence Class BCE.
Certificate in Defensive Driving or Road Safety.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
First Aid Certificate.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 5 years of accident-free driving experience.
Experience in a water utility, public institution or commercial fleet is preferred.
Experience driving both light and heavy vehicles, including bowsers or lorries, where required.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Thorough knowledge of the Traffic Act, NTSA regulations and road safety requirements.
Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read maps and use GPS or navigation tools.
Good record-keeping skills.
Basic communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
Good customer care and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies.

Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends and during emergencies.
Willingness to travel when required.
Physical fitness with good eyesight and hearing.
