1. Accountant Intern – Three (3) Posts
Minimum Requirements
Applicants interested in the Accountant Intern position should meet at least one of the following academic requirements:
Option 1: CPA Qualification
A pass in Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination, or
An equivalent qualification recognized for the position.
OR
Option 2: Bachelor's Degree
Applicants may also qualify if they hold:
A Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, with a specialization in Accounting or Finance; or
A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, with an Accounting option; or
Any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Candidates should have a good understanding of basic accounting principles and demonstrate an interest in developing practical accounting skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Accountant Intern will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer and will assist with various accounting activities.
The main responsibilities will include:
1. General Accounting Support
Perform a variety of accounting duties within the assigned area of responsibility.
Assist with routine accounting activities under the supervision of a senior officer.
Apply established accounting procedures, rules, and regulations when carrying out assigned duties.
Support the accounting team with day-to-day financial activities.
Ensure assigned accounting tasks are completed accurately and within the required timelines.
2. Preparation and Verification of Vouchers
The intern will assist with the preparation and verification of accounting vouchers.
This will include:
Preparing vouchers in accordance with established rules and procedures.
Checking supporting documentation before processing transactions.
Verifying primary financial information.
Entering financial data accurately.
Ensuring that accounting records are properly supported.
Reporting any inconsistencies or missing information to the supervising officer.
3. Routine Accounting Activities
The successful candidate will assist with routine accounting work, which may include:
Balancing cashbooks.
Maintaining and balancing imprest records.
Updating advances ledgers.
Checking accounting entries.
Supporting reconciliation activities.
Assisting with the maintenance of financial records.
Performing other routine accounting duties assigned by the supervising officer.
The complexity and scope of the work assigned to the intern will increase as the candidate gains more experience and receives additional training.
4. Learning and Development
The Accountant Intern will be expected to learn and develop their accounting skills through practical experience.
As experience is gained, the intern may be assigned additional responsibilities. However, new or more complex duties will continue to be performed under appropriate guidance and supervision.
The candidate should therefore be willing to:
Learn new accounting procedures.
Accept guidance from senior officers.
Ask questions where clarification is required.
Apply feedback to improve performance.
Develop practical accounting and financial management skills.
Maintain accuracy when handling financial information.
5. Safekeeping of Records and Assets
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe custody of records and assets assigned to them.

Taking appropriate care of assets under their responsibility.
Preventing loss or unauthorized access to records and assets.
Reporting any loss, damage, or irregularity to the appropriate officer.

2. Registered Clinical Officer – Anaesthetist – Two (2) Posts
Minimum Requirements
Applicants for the position of Registered Clinical Officer – Anaesthetist should meet the following requirements:
1. Academic Qualifications
Applicants must have:
A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, or
A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
In addition, applicants must possess:
A Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Anaesthesia).
2. Professional Registration and Licensing
Candidates must have the appropriate professional credentials required to practice as a Clinical Officer.
Applicants should possess:
A valid Practicing License from the Clinical Officers Council.
A Registration Certificate from the Clinical Officers Council.
3. Computer Skills
Applicants should also have:
A Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.
Candidates should be comfortable using basic computer applications for clinical documentation, data entry, reporting, and other administrative duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful Registered Clinical Officer – Anaesthetist will be responsible for providing clinical services to patients while supporting the delivery of quality healthcare.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Patient Assessment and Treatment
The officer will:
Take patients' medical histories.
Examine patients and assess their presenting conditions.
Diagnose common ailments.
Provide appropriate treatment to patients.
Attend to patients in both outpatient and inpatient health facilities, where applicable.
Monitor patients and provide appropriate clinical care.
Ensure that patients receive appropriate medical attention based on their clinical needs.
2. Patient Guidance and Counselling
The Clinical Officer will provide health information and counselling to patients, clients, and staff.
This may include:
Explaining health conditions to patients.
Providing guidance on treatment and follow-up care.
Educating patients on appropriate health practices.
Counselling patients and clients on health-related matters.
Providing relevant health information to staff where required.
Effective communication and professionalism will be important when interacting with patients and their families.
3. Referral of Patients
The officer will assess patients and determine when additional or specialized care is required.
Responsibilities will include:
Identifying patients who require specialized treatment.
Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
Providing relevant information to support continuity of care.
Following up on referrals where necessary.
4. Medico-Legal Reports
The successful candidate will assist with medico-legal responsibilities as required.
This includes:
Assessing relevant cases.
Preparing medico-legal reports.
Presenting medico-legal information appropriately.
Ensuring reports are accurate and properly documented.
5. Health Management and Team Coordination
The Clinical Officer will participate in health management activities and work closely with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities may include:
Organizing health management teams.
Participating in health management activities.
Convening health management committee meetings where required.
Working collaboratively with other healthcare workers.
Supporting effective coordination of clinical services.
6. Community Health Activities
The officer will participate in community-based healthcare activities in collaboration with other health workers.

7. Preventive and Promotive Healthcare

8. Clinical Outreach and School Health Services
The Clinical Officer will participate in outreach programmes and school health activities.

Referring patients who require additional medical attention.
9. Minor Surgical Procedures
The officer may carry out minor surgical procedures in accordance with their training, competence, and professional scope of practice.

10. Clinical Data Collection and Reporting
The successful candidate will also be responsible for collecting and maintaining relevant clinical information.
This includes:
Collecting clinical data.

Supporting the preparation of clinical reports.
Ensuring that required information is submitted accurately and on time.
