Job Purpose
The Sales & Marketing Executive will drive business growth by promoting the lodge’s accommodation, hospitality and event offerings, building strong client relationships and identifying new revenue opportunities. The role requires strong knowledge of the Nyeri and Laikipia markets, excellent networking abilities and the capacity to develop and implement effective hospitality sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the lodge’s products, services, pricing and events calendar.
Build, grow and manage a strong portfolio of clients and maintain an accurate customer database.
Work toward achieving or exceeding established sales targets.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue through cross-selling and upselling.
Conduct market and client research to understand customer profiles, pricing expectations, preferences and potential business opportunities.
Make regular sales calls and visits to prospective and existing customers.
Develop personalized guest itineraries based on individual budgets and requirements.
Identify relevant hospitality tenders and submit applications where appropriate.
Build relationships with tourism and hospitality industry stakeholders through networking activities.
Represent the lodge at trade fairs, exhibitions, promotional campaigns and other industry events.
Track developments and emerging trends within the hospitality sector and recommend suitable sales approaches.
Develop and run social media campaigns and online promotions aimed at increasing bookings and occupancy.
Coordinate with hotel departments to ensure confirmed reservations and event requirements are properly communicated and implemented.
Monitor competitor activities and provide relevant market intelligence.
Review occupancy projections and prepare sales performance reports.
Produce useful and engaging blog content for the lodge’s online platforms.
Engage directly with guests, collect feedback and ensure concerns are escalated and addressed promptly.
Carry out other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Previous experience in a hotel, lodge or travel agency environment is an added advantage.
At least 3 years of practical experience in hospitality sales, with established local and regional networks.
Strong sales and business development abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good computer skills and practical knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms.
Strong negotiation and presentation capabilities.
Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision.
Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
Good understanding of the outdoor tourism industry and its target markets.
Applicants should be based in Nyeri County or have strong familiarity with sales and marketing activities within Nyeri and Laikipia counties.
Adventure & Entertainment Coordinator

Job Purpose
The Adventure & Entertainment Coordinator will oversee guest entertainment, recreational activities and mountain operations while ensuring guests receive engaging, safe and well-organized experiences. The role combines entertainment coordination, mountain activity administration, guest engagement, team-building support and operational record management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop weekly schedules for entertainment and recreational activities and communicate them to guests through appropriate information channels.
Coordinate special programmes and entertainment during peak seasons, holidays and other major celebrations in consultation with departmental heads.
Identify and engage suitable entertainment groups for special events.
Encourage guests to participate in recreational activities through friendly and professional interaction.
Ensure sports, music and recreational equipment is available, functional and properly maintained.
Manage background music within bars and restaurant areas according to approved genres and schedules.
Perform DJ duties and organize themed music or disco evenings based on guest preferences.
Facilitate team-building programmes for visiting groups using the lodge’s sports facilities, grounds and challenge course.
Support guests during guided nature walks around the lodge.
Ensure designated nature trails and mountain biking routes remain accessible and properly maintained.
Take rotational responsibility for the lodge’s mountain operations office.
Coordinate mountain safari enquiries received through the front office and provide timely responses.
Develop itineraries and organize required logistics once mountain bookings are confirmed.
Welcome mountain visitors and team-building groups, provide reception support and conduct guest briefings.
Coordinate with the KWS mountain rescue team to ensure excursions comply with required safety procedures.
Arrange food requirements for mountain caretakers according to approved schedules.
Prepare monthly duty schedules for mountain personnel and communicate assigned responsibilities.
Maintain accurate daily attendance records for staff.
Prepare monthly management reports and contribute to annual departmental budgeting.
Organize work schedules for assigned drivers and vehicles.
Maintain custody and inventory records for mountain, entertainment and sporting equipment and participate in monthly stock counts.
Report damaged or defective equipment to the appropriate maintenance supervisor.
Safeguard operational documents, including application forms, booking records, vouchers and related paperwork.
Support mountain guides with documentation and receipting of collections during shift handovers in accordance with financial procedures.
Ensure mountain operation charges and revenues are correctly recorded in the Fidelio system at the front desk.
Coordinate with maintenance, gardening and caretaking teams to ensure the challenge course and mountain stations are properly managed.
Work alongside the sales team to promote mountain activities, lodge experiences and special events.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of C Plain.
Professional tour-guiding training or certification from KUC, KWSTI or another recognized institution is preferred.
Membership of the Mt. Kenya Guides & Porters Association.
Practical experience in mountain climbing or hiking.
Valid First Aid and rescue training certification.
Training in wilderness survival techniques from a recognized institution.
Valid Mt. Kenya Guide Tourism Licence.
Strong knowledge of designated Mt. Kenya hiking routes.
Physically and medically capable of walking for extended periods and working in cold environments.
Technical climbing experience will be an added advantage.
Excellent customer service and sales abilities.
Ability to make sound decisions during emergencies, stressful situations or other critical circumstances.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with guests from different cultural backgrounds.
Patient, respectful, empathetic and professional approach to guest service.
Basic understanding of changing weather conditions.
Previous experience working as a hotel animator.
Energetic and outgoing personality.
