Restaurant Supervisor
Nexus Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of its client, a restaurant in Nairobi CBD, for a proactive, organised, and customer-focused Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations and support the delivery of excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will help coordinate restaurant staff, monitor service quality, ensure compliance with hygiene standards, and maintain smooth operations during service hours. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to handle a busy service setting.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
Coordinate waiters, cashiers, kitchen staff, and other team members as required.
Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.
Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and adherence to workplace procedures.
Handle customer complaints and resolve service issues professionally.
Ensure the restaurant maintains high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and sanitation.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with relevant staff to minimise shortages and wastage.
Support order processing, service coordination, and timely delivery of customer orders.
Monitor staff performance and provide guidance to improve productivity and service quality.
Ensure restaurant equipment, furniture, and service areas are properly maintained.
Prepare basic operational reports and communicate issues to management.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash-handling controls, and daily operational checks where required.
Support staff training and onboarding to maintain consistent service standards.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Team Leader, or in a similar hospitality role.
Good understanding of restaurant operations, customer service, and food hygiene practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to coordinate staff and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints calmly.
High levels of integrity, responsibility, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Good organisational skills and basic reporting abilities.
A certificate or diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Service, or a related field will be an added advantage.

Chinese Cuisine Cook
Nexus Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of its client for an experienced and passionate Chinese Cuisine Cook to join its kitchen team in Nairobi.
We are looking for a cook who understands Chinese cooking techniques, can prepare delicious and consistent meals, and takes pride in food quality, presentation, and kitchen hygiene.
If you have hands-on experience preparing Chinese dishes in a restaurant, hotel, takeaway, or catering establishment, this is an opportunity to put your culinary skills to work.
The salary ranges from KSh. 35,000 to KSh. 40,000 per month, depending on experience and demonstrated cooking ability.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare a variety of Chinese dishes while maintaining authentic flavours and consistent quality.
Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, and accompaniments required for Chinese cooking.
Apply appropriate cooking techniques, including stir-frying, steaming, deep-frying, and wok cooking, where relevant to the menu.
Follow recipes and maintain consistency in taste, portion sizes, and presentation.
Ensure food is handled, stored, and prepared safely.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment.
Monitor ingredient usage and minimise food wastage.
Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely preparation and service.
Support menu preparation and recommend improvements to dishes where appropriate.
Requirements
Proven practical experience as a cook or chef specialising in Chinese cuisine.
Good knowledge of Chinese ingredients, seasonings, cooking methods, and popular dishes.
Ability to prepare a variety of Chinese meals to a consistent standard.
Knowledge of food hygiene, safe food handling, and kitchen sanitation.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
Reliability, discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Culinary training or certification will be an added advantage, but demonstrated practical skills are essential.
Must be available to report to work early next week.

What We Offer
