Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.

Good knowledge of employment and labour practices in Kenya.
Practical experience managing attendance, leave, employee records and payroll support.
Experience handling employee relations and disciplinary processes.
Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems is an added advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.

Job Overview
The Senior Operations Manager will oversee and improve operational processes across client onboarding, transactions, trade support, settlement, custody coordination, records management and exception handling. The role will ensure strong operational controls, regulatory compliance, effective team management and continuous improvement within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and improve operational processes covering client onboarding, transaction processing, trade support, settlement, custody coordination, records management and resolution of exceptions.
Establish and maintain effective operational controls, including maker-checker approvals, transaction and cash reconciliations, incident reporting and escalation procedures.
Manage relationships and service standards with custodians, settlement agents, banks, technology providers and other key service providers.
Support the selection and implementation of operational systems, data controls, management dashboards, information security processes and business continuity arrangements.
Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures and service-level requirements.
Ensure clear segregation of duties across Front Office, Operations, Finance, Risk and Compliance functions.
Recruit, develop and manage the Operations team while setting measurable performance standards.
Drive continuous improvement across operational processes and team performance.
Support the CEO with operational budgets, capacity planning, cost management and management and Board reporting.
Coordinate operational contributions to licensing processes, audits and regulatory reviews.
Track the implementation of agreed corrective and remedial actions.
Identify operational, process and conduct risks and promptly escalate significant incidents.
Lead corrective actions to address identified operational risks and weaknesses.
Maintain appropriate oversight and documented controls for outsourced operational activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIFA or an equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
5–8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in investment banking, banking, capital markets or another regulated financial-services environment.
Practical experience working within CMA and/or CBK regulatory frameworks.
Strong understanding of financial-services operations, internal controls, risk management and governance.
Proven experience managing teams, operational processes and business improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical, organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within a regulated financial-services environment.
