Job Description
Our client, a leading Kenyan company specializing in retail concepts, interior solutions, shopfitting and equipment, is looking for a Credit Controller. Reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s order-to-cash process while helping safeguard working capital and maintain healthy cash flow.
The role will cover customer billing, credit management, collections, account reconciliations and credit risk. The Credit Controller will ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time based on project milestones and deliveries, while maintaining compliance with Kenyan sales tax requirements and accurate receivables records.
The position will also provide support to the Head of Finance when required, including month-end closing, management reporting, cash-flow management, statutory compliance and supervision of junior finance employees.
Job Responsibilities
Manage the full order-to-cash process, covering customer invoicing, collections and account reconciliations.
Monitor outstanding debts and ageing reports, drive collections and work toward agreed recovery targets.
Evaluate customer creditworthiness, recommend suitable credit limits and monitor outstanding exposure.
Administer retentions, contract changes, advance payments and guarantees.
Ensure sales-related tax requirements, including VAT, eTIMS and withholding tax, are properly handled.
Prepare receivables reports, debt collection forecasts and analysis to assist with cash-flow planning.
Support the Head of Finance with month-end closing, budgeting, management reporting, cash-flow activities and statutory compliance.
Supervise junior finance team members and contribute to internal controls, audits and improvements to finance processes.
Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
CPA(K) or ACCA qualification.
5–7 years of experience in credit control or accounts receivable, including experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.
Strong understanding of Kenyan tax compliance, eTIMS and iTax.
Experience using ERP or accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge of IFRS 15 and IFRS 9.
Experience in construction, fit-out, contracting, manufacturing or another project-oriented environment is an added advantage.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and leadership abilities.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commercial awareness.

Job Description
Our client, a leading Kenyan company in retail development, interior solutions and shopfitting, is seeking an HR Manager. Reporting to the Managing Director, the HR Manager will have overall responsibility for the human resources and administration function and will work with the leadership team to support business growth and people-related priorities.
The position will oversee workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, payroll, employee relations, training, statutory compliance and HR policies. The HR Manager will also manage the HR and administration team, oversee office and facilities administration and provide people-related analysis to support management decisions.
HR Strategy, Policy & Workforce Planning
Convert the company’s business plan into an annual HR plan covering workforce requirements, skills, costs and structures for office, workshop and project teams.
Develop, review and implement HR policies and the employee handbook across permanent, contract and casual employees.
Prepare and manage the annual HR and administration budget, including payroll, recruitment, training and welfare costs.
Advise management on organizational structures, job design, grading, staffing levels and succession for critical positions.
Track and report HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment costs, overtime and project labour costs.
Lead organizational changes such as restructuring, redeployment and redundancy processes in accordance with the Employment Act, 2007.
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Manpower Supply
Manage the complete recruitment process, including requisitions, selection criteria, interview panels and hiring recommendations.
Develop talent pipelines for technicians, fitters, installers, site supervisors and casual workers.
Review and approve employment contracts and engagement letters while ensuring proper classification and documentation.
Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, labour providers and training institutions.
Ensure new employees receive structured induction covering HSE, PPE, company policies, quality standards and job expectations.
Monitor probation periods and ensure confirmation or exit decisions are made and communicated on time.
Performance Management, Learning & Development
Manage the performance management cycle and ensure managers set objectives and complete reviews within the required timelines.
Assist supervisors in addressing poor performance through documented performance improvement plans.
Conduct annual training needs assessments and develop costed training plans.
Manage the NITA levy relationship and pursue eligible training reimbursements.
Maintain skills and certification records for workshop and site employees.
Develop career progression opportunities for technicians and site supervisors.
Compensation, Payroll & Benefits
Review and approve monthly payroll inputs before submission to Finance and approve payroll reconciliations before payment.
Ensure overtime, site allowances, per diems and casual wages are processed according to company policy and the Employment Act, 2007.
Maintain the salary structure, conduct pay benchmarking and recommend salary reviews, increments and bonuses.
Manage employee benefits including medical and group life insurance, WIBA and welfare programmes.
Oversee leave administration and monitor accumulated leave liabilities.
Resolve escalated payroll and benefits concerns and serve as the contact point for auditors.
Employee & Industrial Relations
Provide guidance on employee relations and ensure workplace matters are handled fairly and lawfully.
Chair or advise on disciplinary and grievance proceedings while ensuring proper procedures are followed.
Represent the organization before the Ministry of Labour, conciliators and the Employment and Labour Relations Court.
Manage relationships with trade unions, employee representatives and joint consultative forums, including CBA matters where applicable.
Guide supervisors and site managers on employee management, discipline and communication.
Promote employee engagement, internal communication and welfare initiatives.
Statutory Compliance, HR Records & Risk
Ensure compliance with the Employment Act, 2007, OSHA 2007, WIBA, Labour Relations Act and applicable statutory deduction requirements.
Ensure PAYE, NSSF, SHIF/SHA, NITA levy, Housing Levy and HELB deductions and returns are accurately submitted on time.
Safeguard employee information in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Maintain complete, audit-ready HR records and coordinate the HR aspects of internal, client, statutory and certification audits.
Monitor labour law developments and advise management on their operational and financial implications.
Ensure work permits and relevant approvals for expatriate and specialist employees remain valid.
Administration & Facilities Oversight
Oversee administration activities covering the front office, stationery, consumables, PPE and pantry supplies.
Manage service agreements covering utilities, internet, cleaning, security, courier services and equipment maintenance.
Oversee company vehicle administration, fuel cards and driver schedules.
Ensure travel, accommodation and per diem arrangements for regional projects comply with approved budgets and policies.
Coordinate timely renewal of permits, fire and OSHA certificates, insurance covers and other business licences.
Ensure administrative, procurement and contract records are properly maintained and accessible.
Health, Safety & Employee Welfare Governance
Work with the HSE team to ensure safety requirements, inductions and toolbox talks are implemented.
Ensure workplace incidents and accidents are reported, investigated and followed through to closure, including WIBA claims.
Coordinate OSHA audits, fire drills, first-aid arrangements and occupational health checks.
Support employee wellness and welfare initiatives across office, workshop and project teams.
Key Performance Indicators
Statutory returns filed within required deadlines: 100%.
Payroll reviewed, approved and released before the cut-off: 100% of payroll cycles.
Approved vacancies filled within 45 days.
Offer acceptance rate: at least 85%.
Annual staff turnover excluding project casuals: no more than 15%.

Contract, licence and insurance renewals initiated at least 45 days before expiry.
Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or CHRP (K).
Full membership of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya with a valid practising certificate.
At least 6 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
Working knowledge of the Employment Act 2007, Labour Relations Act, OSHA 2007, WIBA, Data Protection Act 2019 and Kenyan statutory deductions.
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll inputs and statutory returns for a workforce of at least 50 employees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and practical experience using HR and payroll systems.
Added Advantage
Master’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration or Organizational Development.
Experience in construction, interiors, manufacturing, retail fit-out or another project-based industry.
Experience handling or negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Experience representing an employer before the Ministry of Labour or Employment and Labour Relations Court.
Occupational safety and health certification or formal training.
