Supervisors High-End Lounge / Restaurant
Product Sales Manager- FMCG( Unga, Oil, Animal Feeds And Packaging Bags
Supervisor – High-End Lounge or Restaurant
The Supervisor position is a full-time opportunity in Nairobi for an experienced hospitality professional. The role requires someone who understands the demands of working in a high-end lounge or restaurant and can take responsibility for the daily running of the establishment.
Candidates are expected to have between three and five years of experience in a supervisory position. Previous experience specifically within a high-end lounge or restaurant is required, making this role more suitable for professionals who already understand the standards expected in an upscale hospitality environment.
The position also requires strong leadership abilities. A supervisor is responsible for more than completing their own duties. They need to guide employees, coordinate activities, and ensure that the team performs its responsibilities properly. Good team management can help keep operations organised, particularly during busy periods when the number of customers increases.
Customer service is another important part of the position. Candidates should have strong communication skills and understand how to interact professionally with guests. In a high-end hospitality setting, customers expect attentive service and a professional experience, so the person overseeing the team needs to maintain these standards throughout daily operations.
The successful candidate should also understand hospitality standards and service quality. This includes having an awareness of what contributes to a positive guest experience and ensuring that employees maintain the expected level of service.
The role can involve working in a fast-moving environment, meaning applicants should be able to remain composed while handling pressure. Restaurant and lounge operations can become particularly demanding during busy periods, and the supervisor needs to keep the team focused while ensuring that customers continue receiving good service.
The listed requirements also specify that applicants should be aged 35 years and above. Candidates considering the position should therefore check that they meet this requirement before applying.
Overall, the role calls for an experienced hospitality professional who can combine leadership, customer service, communication, and operational management skills.
Product Sales Manager – FMCG
The second opportunity is for a Product Sales Manager in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. This is also a full-time position based in Nairobi, but it requires considerably more experience than the hospitality supervisor role.
The position requires between six and eight years of relevant work experience. Candidates should have a background in FMCG, particularly in areas involving wheat flour, maize flour, oil, animal feeds, packaging bags, or food ingredients.
The role combines sales management with commercial planning and key account development. The successful candidate will be expected to establish sales targets and work across both business-to-consumer and business-to-business markets.
This includes dealing with retail customers as well as larger customers such as bakeries, food manufacturers, and other industrial clients. Managing these relationships can involve negotiating contracts, agreeing on supply arrangements, and developing plans aimed at maintaining and growing business.
An important part of the role is responsibility for product-line performance. The manager will need to pay attention to sales volume, pricing, product mix, and trade spending. These areas are important when assessing how individual product lines are performing commercially.
Managing the Sales Team
The Product Sales Manager will also oversee sales representatives working across retail and institutional markets. This involves coaching team members, monitoring their field activities, and helping them improve their selling capabilities.
The manager may participate in joint customer visits and monitor how representatives engage with clients. Where bakery products are involved, technical understanding of bakery applications can also be useful when supporting the sales team.
The position requires someone who can manage people while also remaining focused on commercial targets. Team productivity and achievement will form part of the performance measures for the role.
Distribution and Market Coverage
Another major responsibility involves developing the company's distribution network. The successful candidate will work to improve coverage across modern retail outlets, general trade, and direct bakery distribution.
The manager will also be expected to increase the company's presence among bakeries, food-service businesses, oil and animal feed customers, and packaging-related accounts. Distributor performance will need to be monitored to ensure that products reach the intended markets effectively.
Maintaining product availability is also part of the role. This includes paying attention to stock levels, pricing, and product visibility in the market.
Pricing and Trade Management
The Product Sales Manager will work within the company's pricing framework while considering market competition and profitability. The role involves finding ways to remain competitive while protecting margins.
The manager may also develop programmes designed to encourage institutional customers to remain loyal and increase their purchasing volumes. This requires an understanding of customer relationships as well as commercial negotiation.
Market Research and Forecasting
Market intelligence is another responsibility attached to the position. The manager will need to keep track of competitor products, activities among institutional customers, and factors affecting the cost and profitability of products.
Accurate forecasting is also important. The successful candidate will be expected to provide demand forecasts and regular performance reports. These reports can help the business plan production, supply, and sales activities.
The manager will also work with other departments, including supply chain, production, marketing, sales administration, commercial analysis, and finance. External relationships will include bakery customers, food manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, retail buyers, and relevant industry organisations.
Qualifications and Experience
The Product Sales Manager position requires a postgraduate diploma or certificate in Sales and Marketing, such as CIM, or a qualification related to food or agribusiness. A bachelor's degree in business, commerce, or a related discipline is desirable.
Candidates should have six to eight years of experience in relevant FMCG or food-ingredient sales, including two to three years managing field sales teams and B2B accounts.
Strong negotiation, relationship management, and people-management skills are required. Experience selling flour or bakery ingredients to industrial or artisanal bakeries is desirable, as is knowledge of food-grade quality requirements and supply expectations.
How the Two Opportunities Differ
The two positions target professionals with different career backgrounds. The Supervisor role is focused on hospitality operations, staff management, and customer experience, while the Product Sales Manager position is centred on FMCG sales, commercial growth, distribution, and key account management.
Both roles, however, require previous professional experience and the ability to take responsibility. Applicants should carefully review the requirements of the position they are interested in and ensure that their education, experience, and skills match what the employer is seeking.
Job seekers interested in either opportunity should follow the stated application procedure and provide accurate details about their qualifications and previous work experience.
