1. Pastry Chef – Nairobi
We are looking for a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join a professional food production environment in Nairobi.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high standards of pastry and dessert production. The position involves ensuring consistent product quality, following food safety requirements, managing daily pastry kitchen operations, and supporting the development of junior team members.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical skills in pastry production and a passion for creating high-quality baked products and desserts.
Key Responsibilities
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for:
Preparing a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked products.
Maintaining consistent quality across all pastry products.
Ensuring that recipes and production standards are followed.
Managing daily activities within the pastry kitchen.
Ensuring ingredients are properly prepared, stored, and used.
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Following food safety procedures and HACCP requirements.
Monitoring the quality, appearance, taste, and presentation of finished products.
Supporting the development and introduction of new pastry products.
Managing pastry production according to business requirements.

Key Requirements
Applicants should have:
A Diploma or Certificate in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in a reputable bakery, café, restaurant, hotel, or specialty dessert establishment.
Strong practical knowledge of pastry production.
Experience in artisan baking.
Good knowledge of chocolate work and chocolate-based desserts.
Strong skills in cake decoration.
Ability to produce attractive and professional dessert presentations.
Knowledge of food safety practices and HACCP standards.
HACCP certification will be an added advantage.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to mentor and work effectively with junior team members.

2. Electro-Mechanical Technician

The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently while supporting preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for:
Diagnosing electrical and mechanical equipment faults.
Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance.
Troubleshooting production machinery and industrial equipment.
Supporting equipment reliability and minimizing production downtime.
Inspecting electrical and mechanical systems regularly.
Working with industrial automation systems.
Supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical components.
Troubleshooting motors, sensors, controllers, and related equipment.
Working with PLC-based control systems.
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Interpreting mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Supporting equipment testing and commissioning where required.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
Reporting equipment faults and recommending appropriate solutions.
Following workplace health and safety procedures.
Working closely with production teams to resolve equipment-related problems.
Key Qualifications
Applicants should have:
A Diploma in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Electronics.
3–5 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience in the FMCG industry will be an added advantage.
Practical experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Knowledge of PLC systems such as:

Siemens
Delta
Practical experience with:
Motor controllers
Sensors

3. Lathe Machine Operator
Talent Grid Africa is recruiting on behalf of a leading LPG gas cylinder manufacturer for a skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Operator to join the production team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating lathe machines and supporting the production of high-quality components according to engineering specifications.
The ideal candidate should have practical machining experience, good knowledge of precision measurements, and the ability to work safely and accurately in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Lathe Machine Operator will be expected to:
Operate conventional or CNC lathe machines.
Set up machines according to production requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools.
Measure components accurately during production.
Ensure finished components meet required dimensions and tolerances.
Use precision measuring instruments correctly.
Monitor machine performance during production.
Identify defects and production inconsistencies.
Make appropriate machine adjustments where required.
Carry out basic machine maintenance.
Report machine faults and technical problems.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow production procedures and safety requirements.
