Legal Officer
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Legal and Company Secretary, the Legal Officer will provide essential legal and governance support to the institution. The role is responsible for protecting the organization’s legal interests, providing sound legal guidance, preparing well-researched legal opinions, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements.
The position will also support the Board and Company Secretariat by coordinating governance-related activities, facilitating effective board administration, maintaining appropriate corporate records, and supporting engagement with senior stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LL.B/LL.M) from a recognized institution.
Membership, Fellowship, or Associate status with the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) Kenya.
Current and valid membership with the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience in a bank, financial institution, or comparable environment.
Demonstrated experience in legal advisory services, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and company secretarial support is an added advantage.
Chief Risk Officer
Job Purpose
The Chief Risk Officer will provide strategic leadership for the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function and oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of risks across the organization.
The role covers a broad range of exposures, including strategic, operational, credit, market, technology, and cybersecurity risks. The CRO will ensure that effective risk management practices are embedded throughout the Bank while supporting sustainable commercial growth and informed executive decision-making.
The position will also lead the development of a strong risk-conscious culture, provide independent risk advice to senior management, strengthen risk governance frameworks, and ensure that the Bank remains compliant with applicable banking legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should possess:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Risk Management, Business, or a related discipline.
A postgraduate qualification, MBA, or relevant professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACA, or ACCA is desirable.
At least eight (8) years of professional experience within the banking sector.
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a senior leadership or managerial position.
Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management, banking regulations, governance frameworks, and financial-sector risk practices.
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic risk guidance while supporting business growth and organizational objectives.
