Systems Lead
Data & Reporting Analyst
Systems Lead (ERPNext)
Position Overview
The Systems Lead will provide technical leadership for the organization's ERPNext ecosystem across multiple business entities. The role is responsible for system architecture, customization, integrations, performance optimization, security, and continuous improvement while ensuring reliable business operations. The successful candidate will also lead a development team, oversee system governance, and drive ERPNext adoption across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Architecture and System Administration
Lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of the ERPNext environment across multiple business units.
Develop and manage custom DocTypes, workflows, client and server scripts, and business logic to support operational requirements.
Configure valuation methods, inventory controls, and warehouse-specific processes to ensure accurate financial and operational reporting.
Monitor overall system health, background jobs, scheduled tasks, and application performance to maximize availability and reliability.
System Maintenance and Change Management
Perform controlled system maintenance, data corrections, and issue resolution using approved change management procedures.
Develop and maintain operational runbooks, technical documentation, and recovery procedures for recurring incidents.
Plan and execute ERPNext upgrades, software patches, releases, and enhancements while minimizing business disruption.
Administer user roles, permissions, and security controls to safeguard organizational information and ensure compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019).
Integration and Business Process Automation
Design, implement, and maintain integrations between ERPNext and external platforms, including payment gateways, Microsoft 365 solutions, SharePoint, Power Automate, and other third-party applications.
Ensure reliable synchronization of operational data across enterprise systems through APIs and automated workflows.
Oversee data capture processes covering inventory management, production activities, procurement, stock movements, billing, and operational transactions.
Support offline-capable field applications and ensure seamless synchronization of captured data into ERPNext.
Leadership and Continuous Improvement
Lead, coach, and mentor software developers while promoting coding standards, testing procedures, code reviews, and release management best practices.
Drive user adoption by coordinating technical training, documentation, standard operating procedures, and change management initiatives.
Establish effective after-hours support processes and coordinate with external technology partners to maintain business continuity.
Monitor emerging ERPNext and Frappe technologies and recommend improvements that enhance system performance, scalability, and user experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of four years' experience developing and customizing ERPNext/Frappe solutions, including experience in a senior or leadership capacity.
Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript with extensive knowledge of the Frappe framework and ERPNext architecture.
Demonstrated experience integrating ERPNext with external applications and APIs, including payment platforms, Microsoft 365 technologies, and workflow automation tools.
Strong understanding of MariaDB, MySQL, SQL, REST APIs, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage technical teams and deliver complex system implementations.
Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity organizations and familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies will be an added advantage.
Data & Reporting Analyst
Position Overview
The Data & Reporting Analyst will transform operational data into meaningful insights that support business planning and decision-making. The role is responsible for data collection, quality management, reporting, visualization, analytics, governance, and collaboration with business stakeholders to improve organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Quality Management
Gather and consolidate data from multiple sources, including operational systems, production databases, environmental monitoring systems, spreadsheets, and application programming interfaces (APIs).
Validate, clean, and standardize data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues while conducting periodic audits to maintain data integrity.
Reporting and Dashboard Development
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and management reports that monitor key operational and business performance indicators.
Build customized reporting solutions tailored to departmental and management requirements.
Develop dynamic visualizations using tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms.
Automate recurring reports to improve reporting efficiency and provide timely business insights.
Data Analysis and Business Intelligence
Analyze operational and business data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with business teams to develop data-driven strategies that improve operational performance, production planning, resource utilization, and profitability.
Perform ad hoc analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Data Governance and Compliance
Implement appropriate security controls, user access management, and governance practices to protect sensitive information.
Ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations and organizational policies.
Develop and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage records to support governance and reporting standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and analytical needs.
Translate complex business questions into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations that support strategic objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of two years' experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting, including Power BI development and tabular data modeling.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, DAX, or comparable analytical programming languages.
Experience using business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
Sound understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently within a fast-paced business environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end reporting and analytics projects from planning through implementation.
Professional certification in Microsoft Power BI or a related analytics platform will be considered an added advantage.
