Roles and Responsibilities
Administer the Sacco’s network infrastructure, servers and backup systems.
Put in place and maintain cybersecurity controls that protect member information and financial transactions.
Manage the Sacco’s core banking platform and ensure it remains secure, stable and operational.
Offer technical assistance to employees and resolve IT problems within the required timelines.
Maintain, update and optimize Sacco management applications to support operational efficiency and compliance.
Monitor system performance and take appropriate measures to reduce downtime.
Manage user profiles, system permissions, access controls and data protection procedures.
Liaise with technology vendors on hardware, software and IT service support and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Professional certifications in Microsoft, Fortinet or CompTIA.
Membership in a relevant professional body.
Practical experience working with Sacco Core Banking Systems.
Strong knowledge of database administration, including SQL, Oracle and similar platforms.
Knowledge of network administration, firewall configuration and cybersecurity practices.
Understanding of mobile banking and digital banking system integrations.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide timely technical support.
At least 3–5 years of experience in IT administration, preferably within a Sacco or financial institution.

Sacco Loan Issuance Officer

Roles and Responsibilities
Receive and review loan applications before processing them.
Evaluate applicants’ creditworthiness and ability to meet repayment obligations.
Confirm member eligibility using factors such as deposits, income, guarantors, credit history and other requirements outlined in the credit policy.
Prepare detailed loan assessment reports and recommendations for consideration.
Confirm that all required loan documentation is complete and compliant before funds are released.
Process loans that have received approval within the established turnaround periods.
Ensure lending activities comply with the Sacco’s credit policy, applicable regulations and internal procedures.
Detect potentially high-risk applications and escalate them through the appropriate channels.
Explain loan products, repayment conditions and related information accurately to members.
Keep loan files and records complete, accurate and up to date.
Contribute to loan portfolio growth by engaging members and promoting suitable loan products.
Compile regular reports covering loan processing activities and portfolio performance.
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
At least two years of experience in credit administration, loan appraisal or lending within a Sacco, microfinance institution or commercial bank.
Good knowledge of lending procedures and credit assessment methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sacco or Core Banking systems.
Professional training or certification in Credit Management will be an added advantage.

Portfolio Manager – Alternative Investments (CISL)

Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management and growth of alternative investment activities across CISL mandates.
Key Responsibilities
Support the sourcing, monitoring and reporting of alternative investments across all CISL mandates.
Develop and manage suitable Special Funds and support reporting for both retail and corporate clients.
Monitor the performance of Special Funds and ensure they meet applicable compliance requirements.
Engage directly with clients on alternative investment matters and work toward maximizing returns on assets under management by assessing investment efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improved performance.
Work with alternative investment service providers and consultants, providing oversight and guidance on business plans and investment strategies.
Develop and maintain appropriate performance measurement tools and reports for alternative investments.
Assess the suitability of current and proposed investments for clients.
Contribute to pre-investment due diligence by reviewing financial and operational assumptions.
Develop complete financial models covering the lifecycle of alternative assets from acquisition through disposal.
Coordinate the integration of assets following investment.
Lead engagements with regulators and professionals in the alternative investment sector to support product development, design and compliance.
Ensure risks within the assigned area are properly managed and escalated through established channels where necessary.
Conduct research on developments in the alternative investment sector and present practical proposals to the CIO CISL and relevant client Boards.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
Must hold relevant professional certification and be a registered, practicing member of ICIFA.
CFA or CAIA certification will be an added advantage.
Understanding of alternative investments as an asset class and Special Funds as an investment product.
Knowledge of financial and accounting principles, together with an understanding of marketing and customer service practices.
Strong organizational skills, thoroughness and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Sound judgement and decision-making ability.
Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems, with the ability to work independently.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand broader business considerations.
Comfortable working with financial figures, margins, budgets and revenue.
Ability to negotiate effectively and build and maintain mutually beneficial professional relationships.
