Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Operations and Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Manager will oversee water distribution operations, plant activities, water quality assurance, sewerage functions, and initiatives aimed at reducing water losses and wastage.
Key Responsibilities
Managerial Responsibilities
Provide leadership and strategic coordination for water distribution, sewerage, quality assurance, and NRW activities.
Supervise departmental teams, promote strong performance, and support staff development.
Ensure operational teams have the necessary tools, infrastructure, equipment, and resources.
Contribute to the preparation of annual departmental budgets in line with operational priorities.
Monitor expenditure to ensure funds are used responsibly and remain within approved budgets.
Manage performance across supervised sections and introduce measures to improve results.
Ensure sectional performance reports are prepared accurately and submitted on time.
Establish and maintain effective policies, procedures, and operational systems that support compliance and efficiency.
Operational Responsibilities
Prepare engineering designs and bills of quantities for water-related projects.
Monitor operations to ensure water distribution and plant performance targets are achieved.
Develop and present proposals for water distribution projects and system improvements.
Build productive working relationships with government agencies, private organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
Review operational targets, procedures, and sectional performance to identify potential challenges and introduce appropriate corrective measures.
Assess existing processes and recommend workflow, structural, and operational changes that improve efficiency.
Establish priorities while considering cost-effectiveness, safety, environmental standards, quality, and timely delivery.
Investigate operational challenges by monitoring system performance, addressing complaints, and obtaining feedback from supervisors and operators.
Promote a safe and healthy workplace by ensuring compliance with statutory and internal safety requirements.
Compile, analyze, and submit operational reports to management and relevant regulatory authorities.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Demonstrated experience in designing water and wastewater infrastructure.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Administration and Logistics Manager, the Security Officer will coordinate and oversee security services aimed at protecting the company's personnel, assets, premises, and property.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the work of Assistant Security Officers.
Operational Responsibilities
Implement security procedures and practices throughout company premises.
Protect personnel and property through regular patrols, CCTV monitoring, and inspection of buildings, equipment, doors, windows, and emergency exits.
Ensure premises are properly secured and access points are closed when operations end.
Establish and enforce procedures for reporting and responding to security incidents.
Work with law enforcement agencies on suspected or reported criminal matters.
Lead investigations into incidents involving loss or damage of company property and follow up on cases.
Plan and monitor security activities, including conducting weekly security inspections at satellite offices.

Role Overview
Embu Water and Sanitation Company Limited, a private water utility owned by the County Government of Embu and responsible for providing water and sanitation services within Embu County, is seeking a self-motivated Plant Operator.
Reporting to the Logistics Officer, the successful candidate will operate a backhoe excavator safely and efficiently on construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves excavation, trenching, grading, lifting, and handling materials while ensuring work is completed according to project specifications, safety requirements, and scheduled timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Operate backhoe excavators for trenching, excavation of foundations, and digging holes.
Carry out grading, backfilling, and loading or unloading of materials.
Interpret site plans, engineering drawings, and grade stakes.
Conduct daily equipment checks and perform basic maintenance activities such as fuelling, greasing, and checking fluid levels.
Operate equipment safely around underground utilities, structures, workers, and other personnel.
Maintain clear communication with supervisors, spotters, and ground teams.
Follow company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Keep the work area clean, safe, and properly organized.
Promptly report equipment faults, safety hazards, accidents, or other incidents.
Support other general site activities when not operating the excavator.
Qualifications and Experience
Form Four certificate with a minimum grade of D+.
Valid driving licence covering categories B, C1, and C.
Valid heavy equipment operator certification or Grade G licence.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in plant operation.
