Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Sonographer to support our diagnostic imaging services. The successful candidate will operate ultrasound equipment to obtain clear and reliable images that assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing and managing different medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform ultrasound examinations according to approved clinical guidelines, procedures, and standards.
Accurately verify, update, and maintain patient information before and during imaging procedures.
Prepare patients appropriately for ultrasound examinations and confirm their identity and readiness.
Complete ultrasound examinations promptly and produce accurate results in accordance with established SOPs.
Review imaging results for quality, accuracy, and consistency, relating findings to the patient's clinical condition where appropriate.
Maintain proper records and filing systems for patient scans, equipment information, and examination results in accordance with applicable requirements.
Monitor departmental supplies and place orders when necessary while ensuring resources are used efficiently.
Maintain effective stock control and accountability procedures.
Carry out routine and weekly checks and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
Follow all infection prevention, safety, and clinical control procedures.
Undertake other sonography-related responsibilities assigned by the Branch Manager.
Be available to provide ultrasound services at different Penda Medical Centres when required.
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Penda Health's vision, values, and service standards.
Requirements and Attributes
Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or Medical Imaging Sciences.
Valid professional or regulatory license to practice, where applicable.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and professional standards.
Competence in using computers and relevant digital systems.
Clinical Officer

Role Overview
Penda Health is seeking compassionate and capable Clinical Officers to join its multidisciplinary healthcare team. The role involves independently assessing and treating patients while using established clinical guidelines, technology, and support from experienced clinical mentors to deliver evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical care, including patient history taking, physical examinations, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment or prescriptions.
Request relevant investigations and interpret the results to support accurate diagnosis and explain findings and treatment plans to patients.
Manage emergencies encountered at the medical centre and arrange appropriate referrals for conditions that require higher-level care.
Perform approved minor surgical procedures in line with the services offered at the facility.
Ensure patient observations, vital signs, treatments, and procedures are accurately recorded in medical records.
Deliver a positive patient experience through effective counselling, communication, and health education on preventive and promotive care.
Apply and continuously develop knowledge of evidence-based medicine while following Penda Health's clinical protocols.
Undertake other duties assigned by the Branch Manager or Clinical Officer in Charge.
Participate in continuous professional development to remain informed about developments in healthcare practice and technology.
Requirements and Attributes
At least 2 years of professional experience following completion of internship.
Registration with the Clinical Officers Council and possession of a valid practising license.
Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Medicine.
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Role Overview
The Nursing Officer will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality nursing care and ensuring an excellent patient experience. The position covers patient triage, emergency care, maternal and child health, family planning, outpatient procedures, and other essential nursing services.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing and clinical services, including patient assessment, triage, maternal and child health care, family planning services, and routine nursing procedures.
Administer IV and IM medications in accordance with approved nursing practices and clinical guidelines.
Ensure the medical centre has adequate supplies, equipment, and properly prepared sterile items for routine and emergency patient care.
Promote and maintain strong infection prevention and control practices in accordance with established protocols.
Enter patient information accurately and promptly into the electronic medical records system.
Complete and submit required Ministry of Health reports accurately and within the specified timelines.
Educate patients on their conditions, treatment, health promotion, and preventive care while maintaining a high standard of patient service.
Apply evidence-based healthcare practices and continuously develop knowledge in line with Penda Health protocols.
Take part in continuous professional development and remain updated on developments in nursing practice and healthcare technology.
Work with the Nurse Officer in Charge and Branch Manager to identify operational gaps and implement improvements that strengthen nursing services.
Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Branch Manager or Nurse Officer in Charge.
Support colleagues, contribute positively to teamwork, and help maintain a collaborative working environment.
Comply with all applicable ethical, professional, and legal requirements governing healthcare delivery.
Requirements and Attributes
Diploma in Nursing, KRCHN, with a valid practising license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Valid BLS certification is required; ACLS certification will be an added advantage.
At least 2 years of nursing experience in a busy healthcare facility.
Practical experience in maternal and child health and family planning services.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent patient-handling abilities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with electronic medical records and other digital healthcare systems.
