Internet Installer

Locations: Garissa, Kisii, Kitui, Bungoma, Busia, Diani, Homa Bay, Kakuma, Kapenguria, Kericho, Kilifi, Kimilili, Kitale, Kitengela, Lodwar, Machakos, Malindi, Maragoli, Maua, Meru, Migori, Mtwapa, Mumias, Naivasha, Nyamira, Nyeri, Rongo, Siaya, Thika and Webuye.

Job Purpose

We are seeking Internet Installers to handle the installation, setup, testing, maintenance, and support of internet equipment at customer premises. The role involves ensuring equipment is installed safely and operates correctly while providing customers with guidance on the use and maintenance of installed services.

The position is hands-on and may require working in challenging environments, including confined spaces and different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily assignments and appointments with the dispatch team.

• Wear the required identification, safety, and customer-service equipment while working.

• Test electrical equipment and systems to confirm that routers and internet services are functioning properly.

• Transport and prepare installation materials at customer locations.

• Coordinate and supervise other installers where required.

• Explain available products to customers and promote relevant additional products.

• Monitor subcontractors to ensure their work meets required quality and performance standards.

• Keep installation tools and equipment properly maintained and safe to use.

• Explain the operation and features of installed equipment to customers.

• Assist in completing assigned installation work within the required timelines.

• Support parts handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities when necessary.

• Review relevant documentation with customers.

• Assist with removing existing materials and installing new equipment at customer premises.

• Work in confined spaces and different weather conditions while maintaining the physical fitness required for the role.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma qualification.

• Training from a technical institution or trade school is an added advantage.

• Practical experience installing and configuring internet equipment, including routers, cabling, and electrical systems.

• Knowledge of testing electrical equipment and confirming safe operation.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve router and internet service problems.

• Knowledge of installation tools, electrical safety requirements, and maintenance practices.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, access confined spaces, and work under different weather conditions.
