Catholic Chaplain - 3 Posts

General Requirements

Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Must possess a valid Kenyan National Identity Card and KRA PIN Certificate.
Applicants should be aged between 27 and 36 years.
Must have no criminal record.
Must be medically fit.
Successful cadets will be required to undertake nine months of NYS paramilitary training at the NYS Training College.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Academic and Professional Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Sacred Theology, Christian Philosophy, Pastoral Theology, Theology, Theology and Bible, Divinity, Islamic Studies, Arabic Studies (Jaami'iyah), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must be a serving Senior Catechist/Anglican or Seventh Day Adventist Pastor with at least three years of relevant work experience.
Must hold a Certificate of Ordination.
Must have a valid government-issued practicing licence.
Must provide a recommendation letter from the head of the relevant Church or Mosque. The religious institution should be affiliated with one of the following bodies:
- Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB)
- National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK)
- Evangelical Fellowship of Churches in Kenya (EFCK)
- East/West Africa Union of Seventh Day Adventists (EAU/WAU)
- Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM)
Proficiency in computer applications is required.

Seventh Day Adventist Chaplain - 2 Posts

General Requirements

Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Must possess a valid Kenyan National Identity Card and KRA PIN Certificate.
Applicants should be aged between 27 and 36 years.
Must have no criminal record.
Must be medically fit.
Successful cadets will be required to undertake nine months of NYS paramilitary training at the NYS Training College.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Academic and Professional Requirements

Maalim - 2 Posts

Must have a clean criminal record.
Must be medically fit.
Successful cadets will undertake nine months of paramilitary training at the NYS Training College.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Academic and Professional Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Sacred Theology, Christian Philosophy, Pastoral Theology, Theology, Theology and Bible, Divinity, Islamic Studies, Arabic Studies (Jaami'iyah), or another equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must be a serving Senior Catechist/Anglican or Seventh Day Adventist Pastor with three years of work experience.
Must have a Certificate of Ordination.
Must possess a government-issued practicing licence.
A recommendation letter from the head of the relevant Church or Mosque is required. The institution should be affiliated with KCCB, NCCK, EFCK, EAU/WAU, or SUPKEM.
Must have proficiency in computer applications.

Protestant Chaplain - 3 Posts

General Requirements

Must be a Kenyan citizen with a valid National Identity Card and KRA PIN Certificate.
Applicants must be aged between 27 and 36 years.
Must have no criminal record and be medically fit.
Successful cadets must complete nine months of NYS paramilitary training at the NYS Training College.
Must meet the requirements set out under Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Academic and Professional Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Sacred Theology, Christian Philosophy, Pastoral Theology, Theology, Theology and Bible, Divinity, Islamic Studies, Arabic Studies (Jaami'iyah), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must be a serving Senior Catechist/Anglican or Seventh Day Adventist Pastor with at least three years' experience.
Must possess a Certificate of Ordination and a valid government practicing licence.
Must provide a recommendation letter from the head of the relevant Church or Mosque, which should belong to KCCB, NCCK, EFCK, EAU/WAU, or SUPKEM.

Applicants who meet the above requirements are required to download and complete the Application for Employment Form-PSC.2 (Revised 2016) from the Public Service Commission website. Duly completed application forms should be submitted through any one of the following methods:

Sealed hand-delivered applications can be dropped at the Registry - National Youth Service Headquarters, Ruaraka, Thika Road, Ground Floor. The applications should reach the undersigned not later than 19th October, 2026.
