Role Objective
A reputable commercial and real estate law firm in Nairobi is seeking an experienced advocate to head its Conveyancing and Commercial Law practice. The successful candidate will take charge of complex transactions, provide strategic legal guidance, supervise the team, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the department.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high-level legal advice and opinions on real estate, property, corporate, commercial, and banking transactions while keeping clients informed of matter progress.
Manage conveyancing and commercial matters from commencement to completion, including due diligence, reviewing lender instructions, execution, and registration of relevant instruments.
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements, security documents, transfer instruments, and other legal documentation for residential and commercial developments.
Coordinate statutory filings and liaise with institutions including the Land Registries, Companies Registry, Survey of Kenya, National Land Commission, and county authorities.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, mortgage providers, estate agents, valuers, surveyors, and other transaction stakeholders.
Supervise and mentor members of the legal team, monitor performance, improve turnaround times, and support effective risk management and departmental planning.
Contribute to business development by strengthening existing client relationships, supporting client retention, and sharing relevant legal and industry updates.
Collaborate with other departments to improve service delivery and the overall client experience.
Undertake other responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university.
Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid Practising Certificate.
At least five years of post-admission experience gained in a busy legal practice.
Demonstrable expertise in conveyancing, commercial, corporate, and banking law.
Practical experience handling property transactions, perfection of securities, and associated banking and land-related legal processes.
Management or leadership training will be an added advantage.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
Set up, position, secure, connect, and prepare audio, video, and lighting equipment for events.
Carry out comprehensive equipment checks and sound tests before events to confirm that systems are functioning correctly.
Dismantle and safely pack equipment after performances and events.
Adjust sound levels, signal processing, and audio settings according to venue acoustics and surrounding noise conditions.
Operate sound equipment during live broadcasts, concerts, corporate functions, and other events.
Record clear, high-quality speech and music and convert analogue recordings into digital formats for editing and post-production.
Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of sound equipment to keep the inventory operational.
