Victory Farms is seeking Mortality Masters to support daily fish mortality collection, recording, monitoring, and disposal activities within assigned cage-farm areas. The role requires accuracy, teamwork, attention to fish health, and strict adherence to safety and biosecurity procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Mortality Collection

• Collect all visible and accessible fish mortalities from assigned cages every day.

• Check mortality bags and ensure they are emptied or collected when required.

• Work with divers to recover mortalities from the bottom of cages where necessary.

• Handle collected mortalities carefully to prevent loss, duplicate counting, or incorrect identification.

Mortality Records and Data Management

• Record the number or weight of mortalities collected from each assigned cage accurately.

• Confirm that cage identification codes match the corresponding mortality records.

• Immediately report unusual increases in mortality to the supervisor.

• Maintain complete and accurate daily mortality records.

Team Coordination

• Work closely with divers, feeders, net exchange teams, and other Mortality Clerks.

• Follow the daily cage allocation and designated zoning arrangements.

• Ensure all assigned cages are covered within the required working period.

• Assist with redistribution of workloads when operational conditions require changes.

Cage Inspection and Fish Monitoring

• Observe fish and cage conditions while carrying out mortality collection.

• Report unusual fish behaviour, excessive mortality, damaged nets, fish escapes, predator activity, and other concerns.

• Escalate abnormal findings promptly to the relevant supervisor.

Mortality Disposal

• Transport collected mortalities to the designated collection or disposal area.

• Follow approved procedures for counting, weighing, transporting, and disposing of mortalities.

• Ensure collected mortalities are not returned to the lake or feeding areas.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.

• Good accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with team members.

• Knowledge of cage-farm operations.

• Basic ability to record and report mortality data.

• Awareness of biosecurity requirements.
