Lower Primary School Teacher Job Opportunity at Foresight Academy
Foresight Academy is seeking a Lower Primary School Teacher to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of young children. This is a full-time opportunity based in Kiambu and is suitable for an educator who combines classroom experience with a genuine interest in helping children learn.
The position requires a teacher who can create an engaging learning environment while maintaining good classroom management. Beyond teaching lessons, the successful candidate should be comfortable working with colleagues, participating in co-curricular activities, and contributing to the wider development of learners.
Teaching Young Learners With Purpose
Lower primary education requires more than simply delivering lessons. Children at this stage need an environment where they can participate, ask questions, explore ideas, and develop confidence in learning.
Foresight Academy is looking for someone with a strong and demonstrated passion for education and young children. The successful teacher should appreciate inquiry-based and student-centred learning and be prepared to make learning an active experience for pupils.
A child-friendly attitude is important because the teacher will interact with young learners throughout the school day. Patience, flexibility, and a positive approach can help create an environment where children feel supported while taking part in classroom activities.
Managing the Classroom
Good classroom management is one of the important requirements for this position. The teacher should be able to maintain an orderly learning environment while ensuring that pupils remain involved in their learning.
Managing a class also requires awareness of different learner needs. The school values educators who care about personal growth and are interested in developing others. This means the teacher should be willing to work with colleagues and contribute to a supportive school environment.
The role is also suited to someone who enjoys group problem-solving. Working as part of a team will be an important part of contributing to the school's educational activities.
Learning Through the CBC Approach
CBC training and experience are required for this opportunity. Candidates should have an understanding and appreciation of the Competency-Based Curriculum and how it can support student-centred learning.
The successful applicant should therefore be comfortable with approaches that encourage participation and active learning. Experience with CBC will be relevant when planning and supporting learning activities for lower primary pupils.
Exposure to Special Educational Needs is desirable. While it is not listed as a mandatory requirement, candidates with relevant qualifications or experience in this area may have an added advantage.
Beyond the Classroom
The teacher's contribution is not limited to classroom lessons. Foresight Academy expects the successful candidate to be active in co-curricular activities.
This provides an opportunity for the teacher to contribute to activities outside normal classroom instruction and support the broader development of learners.
The role also requires demonstrable computer proficiency. Candidates should therefore be comfortable using computers as part of their professional responsibilities.
Qualifications and Professional Requirements
Applicants should hold a P1 qualification, Diploma, or ECDE Certification. In addition, candidates must be TSC registered and have CBC training and experience.
At least two years of experience is required. This means the school is seeking someone who already has practical exposure to working with learners and managing classroom responsibilities.
The successful candidate should also demonstrate strong interpersonal qualities, flexibility, openness to change, and a good attitude.
Who Can Fit Into This Role?
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with children and sees teaching as both a professional responsibility and an opportunity to support personal development.
A team-player mentality is important. Teachers will need to work with others, participate in group problem-solving, and remain open to learning from colleagues.
The school is also seeking a committed Christian. Candidates should therefore meet this requirement alongside the professional and educational qualifications.
For an educator with the required training, TSC registration, CBC experience, and at least two years of experience, this Lower Primary School Teacher position offers an opportunity to contribute to the education and development of young learners at Foresight Academy.
