About the Position
Duravent is looking for an Accountant I to join its Finance team. This is a hybrid opportunity for candidates who can commute to the company’s Grand Rapids/Kentwood, Michigan area office.
The Accountant I will provide support across routine accounting and financial activities, including maintaining records, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting with financial processes and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, financial documentation, and reports.
Assist with preparing and recording general ledger transactions.
Complete account reconciliations and provide support during month-end closing activities.
Enter and maintain financial transaction information within the company’s accounting systems.
Assist with internal audits, financial reviews, and related documentation.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Respond to accounting-related questions from internal teams and external contacts.
Assist with financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Help ensure accounting activities follow company policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
Perform other duties that support the Finance team and overall financial operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Approximately two years of accounting experience preferred; relevant internships or entry-level experience may be considered.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience using Microsoft Excel and accounting or financial software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or comparable systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in a team-based environment.
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position requiring occasional in-person collaboration at the company’s office in the Kentwood/Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
