YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
A professional journalist or a senior operational expert with experience in leading and building journalism teams.

You should be able to create and put into action new and creative ideas for program structure and content.

You must have a strong background in commissioning, shaping and producing impactful multimedia journalism, with a good grasp of what makes audiences engage.

You need an advanced understanding of audience data, search optimization and platform performance, and the ability to use this data to make smart editorial choices.

You should have experience with innovative storytelling methods, including data journalism, which helps make content clearer, more detailed and easier to understand for the audience.


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Significant recent experience in editorial leadership for live TV and radio, with a focus on Pan-African news.

Proven recent experience in producing audiovisual podcasts and high-impact digital journalism that has helped increase reach and reputation across different platforms.

Experience in overseeing scripts in English and the ability to write creatively and compellingly in English.

A record of successfully managing large teams working on various platforms while also promoting diversity and inclusion within the team and in the content produced.

A track record of handling complex legal and editorial policy matters, including managing editorial complaints and ensuring compliance with policies.
