Audio & Production Coordinator
Nature and Scope
The Audio & Production Coordinator will oversee the school’s audio and technical production needs, ensuring sound systems and production equipment are properly operated, maintained, organized, and ready for use during school events.
The role will be responsible for the daily technical readiness, maintenance, safety, cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the auditorium, backstage areas, and other production spaces. The coordinator will provide audio and production support for plays, musicals, concerts, assemblies, chapel services, sporting activities, ceremonies, presentations, and other school events.
The position requires formal technical sound training, practical experience operating sound consoles, and a strong ear for tone, clarity, balance, and overall sound quality. The coordinator will normally work in the Auditorium and may also support events held at the Eagletorium and Amphitheater.
The role involves working closely with teachers, students, production leaders, and production teams to ensure events are technically supported to a high professional standard.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Sound and Lighting
Manage sound and lighting requirements for school productions and events, including plays, concerts, assemblies, chapel services, and presentations.
Ensure audio systems provide suitable support for live-streamed events.
Set up, operate, test, maintain, and troubleshoot sound and lighting equipment.
Apply appropriate sound and lighting techniques while maintaining good tone, clarity, balance, and overall audio quality.
Production Support
Work with directors, teachers, and students to meet the technical and artistic sound and lighting needs of productions.
Ensure all technical equipment and production areas are properly prepared and operational before rehearsals and events.
Equipment and Inventory Management
Maintain, organize, label, and catalogue sound equipment, instruments, costumes, props, and other production resources.
Identify damaged, obsolete, or unusable equipment and coordinate its repair, replacement, or disposal.
Maintain appropriate equipment records and organized storage.
Auditorium and Event Facilities
Keep the auditorium, performance spaces, backstage areas, costume areas, and prop storage spaces clean, safe, organized, and functional.
Carry out routine inspections of lighting, monitors, walkways, seating, floors, and other facilities.
Arrange for repairs where faults or maintenance needs are identified.
Facility Booking Management
Manage requests from community members or organizations seeking to use the auditorium and event facilities.
Give priority to scheduled school events when managing facility bookings.
Event Readiness and Troubleshooting
Carry out checks before events to confirm that sound, lighting, seating, backstage areas, props, and other essential facilities are ready.
Respond quickly to technical and operational problems during rehearsals and live productions.
Coordinate with production leads regarding ticketing and front-of-house arrangements.
Student Support and Development
Work with students participating in chapel services, presentations, theatre productions, concerts, and other school events.
Guide students in the safe and responsible use of audio-visual equipment and production spaces where appropriate.
Support students in operating audio equipment within approved limits and under the required supervision arrangements.
Staff Supervision and Coordination
Supervise the Sound Technician when necessary.
Allocate work schedules and monitor performance standards.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, organization, equipment care, and professionalism are maintained.
Coordinate with Activities, Facilities, IT, and other departments when required to support school events.
Communication and Collaboration
Build positive and effective working relationships with colleagues and staff.
Maintain an open, approachable, and collaborative communication style.
Work effectively with both staff and students.
Attend and participate in school meetings.
Professional Development
Participate in scheduled in-service training and professional development programs.
Keep up to date with developments in production technology and related technical practices.

Qualifications and Experience
Relevant formal training, such as a diploma or degree from a recognized institution, in Sound Engineering, Audio Production, Music Technology, or a related field, or substantial equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is an added advantage.
Strong ability to identify and manage tone, clarity, balance, and overall sound quality.
Practical experience operating live sound consoles, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and related equipment.
Experience maintaining equipment inventories, records, and organized storage systems.
Ability to plan and coordinate technical support for events.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with different departments.
Good working knowledge of IT, including projector setup and PowerPoint presentations.
Basic knowledge of electrical safety and safe handling of technical equipment.
Understanding of workplace hazards and appropriate safety practices.
Respect for cultural diversity and appreciation of the diversity within the body of Christ.
Effective spoken and written English communication skills.
