Catering Supervisor
Job Summary
CITAM Ventures Limited is seeking a skilled, self-driven and experienced Catering Supervisor to oversee the full range of catering operations. The successful candidate will coordinate food production and service, maintain high standards of quality and hygiene, support revenue growth and ensure catering activities are delivered efficiently and professionally.
The position reports to the Business Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise food preparation, production and service activities.
Support the promotion of catering services to both internal and external customers and identify innovative ways to grow external revenue.
Ensure catering operations provide value for money by accurately costing ingredients, portions, menus and function quotations.
Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, health and workplace safety.
Coordinate the processing of Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and ensure supplier invoices are submitted promptly to prevent unnecessary payment delays.
Prepare income and expenditure reports and maintain accurate kitchen inventory records.
Establish and maintain an effective filing and record-keeping system to support easy access to information and preserve institutional records.
Assess catering equipment requirements and make recommendations to support efficient operations.
Ensure catering equipment is used correctly and is properly maintained and cared for.
Supervise the ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of food, beverages and other catering supplies.
Develop attractive, nutritious and well-balanced menus suited to different functions and customer requirements.
Ensure food and beverage services are delivered on schedule and meet expected quality standards.
Strengthen communication and coordination among catering staff through regular team meetings.
Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and other applicable quality and operational standards.
Undertake special catering projects and assignments as directed by the supervising manager.
Requirements
Must be a born-again and mature Christian who aligns with the CITAM statement of faith.
A degree in Hospitality Management with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma in Food Production and Service with more than 8 years of experience, obtained from a reputable institution.
At least 5 years of experience working in a similar catering or hospitality environment.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and public holidays when required.
Creative and analytical mindset with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to think creatively when addressing operational challenges.
Good business awareness and the ability to identify and pursue new revenue opportunities.
Competence in using IT systems and applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively coordinate and motivate a team.
