POSITION SUMMARY
Prepare special meals or substitute items.
Control the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
Take food from the freezer and thaw it in the refrigerator.
Make sure the right amount of food is portioned, arranged, and garnished properly.
Keep food logs and check the quality and quantity of prepared food.
Let the team know when extra help is needed during busy times.
Tell the Chef about any extra food items that can be used for daily specials.
Let the Food & Beverage staff know about special menu items and when something is out of stock.
Make sure all food items are of high quality.
Follow recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists to prepare and cook food.
Also prepare cold dishes.
Help management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff.
Be a good example for others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A certificate or diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
Work Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience: Experience in a hotel or luxury service setting is preferred, with 4- or 5-Star hotels being highly desirable.
