Job Description
Reporting to the Cluster Executive Sous Chef, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting kitchen operations and maintaining high standards of food preparation, service, hygiene, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional, friendly, and proactive service to guests while supporting other kitchen team members.
Prepare a la carte and buffet dishes consistently in line with approved hotel recipes and standards.
Conduct daily briefings for kitchen staff at the beginning of shifts.
Ensure all kitchen colleagues understand the required standards and expectations.
Communicate regularly with Outlet Managers regarding guest feedback and related matters.
Maintain and improve food quality through creative menu development and attractive presentation.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
Engage with guests at their tables when required.
Balance operational requirements, administrative duties, and colleague needs.
Plan staffing and schedules in accordance with productivity requirements.
Keep kitchen work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
Adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures when handling food and beverages.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or a related culinary discipline is an advantage.
Previous experience working in a culinary environment.
Journeyman's papers or an equivalent international qualification is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsible, dependable, and reliable.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong guest focus with the ability to remain calm, polite, and professional at all times.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking during working hours.
Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and sitting.
Ability to work independently when required.
