Is responsible for delivering patient care by diagnosing and treating patients, offering preventive care, and handling common medical and surgical issues.They also take part in public health programs and make sure they follow all the rules and ethical guidelines.
Academic qualification:
Must have a Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery
Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council and hold a valid practicing license
At least one (1) year of experience after completing an internship in either a public or private hospital
More than one (1) year of work experience, preferably in a busy health facility
Knowledge of managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is essential
Must have a certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Desirable competencies:
Excellent clinical skills
Must be team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment, showing resilience, compassion, and diplomacy
Should be an active team player with good interpersonal skills
Good analytical skills
Self-driven and proactive
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient in using computers for data entry, analysis, and report writing
Strong communication skills for working effectively with the medical team and interacting with patients
High level of attention to detail and precision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize workload.
