Coffee Experience Host
The Role
The Coffee Experience Host will serve as the face of Spring Valley Coffee at a 5-star hotel in Nairobi, creating memorable coffee experiences for guests while delivering exceptional hospitality. The role involves preparing quality coffee, explaining the journey from bean to cup, and confidently representing the brand through excellent service, presentation and coffee knowledge.

Location & Work Structure
Full-time position based at a 5-star hotel in Nairobi.
Represent Spring Valley Coffee at the hotel on a daily basis while collaborating with hotel employees and the Coffee Team.
Report directly to the Head of Wholesale.
Maintain a professional appearance, polished conduct and consistently strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Create welcoming and engaging interactions that reflect the standards of 5-star hospitality.
Prepare consistently excellent coffee with confidence and attention to detail.
Communicate the Spring Valley Coffee story accurately, clearly and enthusiastically.
Conduct coffee cupping sessions and tasting experiences for hotel guests and staff.
Coffee Craft
Roast small sample batches using a simple roaster and explain the roasting process to interested guests.
Dial in espresso, monitor brew quality and consistently follow established recipes.
Keep the coffee preparation and cupping areas clean, organized and ready for guests.
Maintain accurate records of roasting activities, recipes and tasting observations.
Partnership & Operations
Collaborate with hotel teams to improve their knowledge and understanding of specialty coffee.
Communicate guest preferences, trends and feedback to the Spring Valley Coffee team.
Operate all coffee equipment safely and in accordance with required standards.
Represent Spring Valley Coffee with professionalism, warmth and consistently high service standards.
Experience & Education
Strong barista experience and a solid understanding of specialty coffee fundamentals.
Ability to interact with guests in a relaxed, friendly and professional manner.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain coffee concepts in a simple and accurate way.
Well organized, dependable and committed to maintaining excellent personal and workspace presentation.
Experience in coffee cupping, light roasting or hosting tasting sessions is an added advantage, although training will be provided.
