Position Overview

NutriSave is looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and strategic Communications Associate to drive the implementation of the project's communication initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for highlighting the impact of innovative solutions aimed at minimizing food loss and waste (FLW) while increasing the availability of affordable and nutritious food for low-income communities.

The role involves managing the entire communications process and capturing the progress and outcomes of two flagship initiatives:

• B2B Digital Platforms: Supporting the recovery of surplus fruits and vegetables by linking producers, traders, and other value chain participants.

• Washing, Cutting, Peeling, and Packaging (WCPP): Promoting access to conveniently prepared, minimally processed produce recovered from surplus supplies.

As the program's lead communications professional, the Associate will develop compelling stories that transform technical achievements, research outputs, and pilot results into engaging content. This role is essential in strengthening NutriSave's visibility by demonstrating the program's achievements in Global Access and Adaptive Management to donors, development partners, research institutions, corporate stakeholders, and the wider public.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related discipline.

• At least two years of practical experience in communications, content development, digital media, or storytelling.

• Demonstrated experience producing communication materials for agriculture, agri-tech, market systems, or international development initiatives, particularly within low-income country contexts.

Skills and Competencies

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical information into engaging and audience-friendly content.

• Strong interest in digital communication trends and the ability to quickly learn and apply new communication tools and approaches.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project coordination skills, with the capacity to manage multiple assignments and stakeholder engagements simultaneously.

• Proven ability to build productive working relationships with both internal teams and external partners while delivering communication activities effectively.
