Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Development Communication, Behavioral Science, or a related field

• At least seven (7) years of professional experience in designing and implementing Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programs within sectors such as agriculture, health, or climate and environment

• Proven experience in stakeholder mapping, audience segmentation, and formative research to support communication and campaign development

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with local media, government institutions, and influential community actors

• Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools and approaches related to communication and behaviour change initiatives

• In-depth understanding of participatory communication approaches, gender and inclusion principles, and digital/social media strategies

• Experience translating complex technical or scientific information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences including policymakers, donors, and the general public

• Proven ability to develop communication materials and products for use by local stakeholders

• Experience engaging with media practitioners, social media influencers, and community leaders

• Fluency in English, Kiswahili, and additional local languages is an advantage

• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts into accessible and engaging messaging

• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively in complex and dynamic environments

• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with experience working in diverse, multicultural teams

• Results-driven, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines

• Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective communication and outreach strategies
