Community Oral Health Officer
Academic Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
Valid registration and practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
At least two (2) years of post-internship experience.
Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Experience participating in community outreach initiatives, school dental health programmes, or mobile dental clinics is an added advantage.
Strong clinical knowledge and practical skills in dental hygiene, oral healthcare, and infection prevention and control.
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Health Management Information Systems.
Desired Competencies
Ability to carry out basic dental procedures, including examinations, extractions, prophylaxis, and fluoride application.
Strong understanding of oral disease prevention, health education, and community mobilization.
Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up with developments in the dental field.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, particularly when working with rural and underserved communities.
