Your responsibilities
Oversee corporate compliance activities across WHH’s East and Southern Africa Regional Directorate, covering areas such as fraud and corruption prevention, conflicts of interest, sanctions checks, data protection, safeguarding, and handling sensitive complaints.
Provide functional guidance to regional compliance personnel and designated focal points while ensuring that global compliance policies are effectively implemented.
Strengthen and maintain the Corporate Compliance Management Program across Country Offices, with effective measures for prevention, detection, and response.
Organize compliance training for Country Office teams and partners, ensuring participation and training records are properly maintained.
Ensure sensitive complaints are appropriately referred through WHH’s established global Complaints Response Mechanism.
Lead, support, or oversee investigations involving sensitive compliance matters within the region.
Work closely with Head Office Legal & Compliance and collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Project Management, and other relevant functions.
Provide strategic and operational compliance guidance to Regional Management and Country Directors.
Participate in relevant external compliance meetings, professional networks, associations, and expert forums on behalf of WHH when required.
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Management, Administration, Audit, Finance and Accounting, or another relevant discipline.
At least five years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a corporate compliance or related position, with strong knowledge of compliance risk management.
Understanding of the humanitarian sector and experience working effectively in diverse, multicultural environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proven capacity to develop, maintain, and enhance processes using appropriate tools and methodologies.
Experience delivering training and capacity-building initiatives, supported by strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Demonstrated integrity, initiative, organization, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to remain effective under pressure.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Interest in using data and developing data-informed approaches to strengthen compliance work and decision-making.
Willingness and ability to travel to project locations within the country as required.
