The Data Analyst Intern will provide critical support to Save the Children’s global PRIME Data Improvement Initiative, a project focused on enhancing data quality, accuracy, and reporting across multiple country programs. The internship is designed to support Country Offices that require additional capacity to resolve indicator data issues and improve reporting within the PRIME system.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience in data management, data quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation systems, and international development operations. The successful candidate will work closely with global and regional teams while contributing to the improvement of organizational reporting and decision-making processes.
The internship provides exposure to results-based management frameworks, performance monitoring systems, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement within a global humanitarian and development organization.

Time Zone Coverage: Europe, West and Central Africa (WCA), East and Southern Africa (ESA), Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe (MENAEE)
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of this internship is to support country teams in resolving data quality issues within the PRIME system. Interns will assist high-volume Country Offices by reviewing indicator data, correcting identified issues, updating records, and ensuring accurate information is reflected in organizational reporting systems.
By supporting the data correction process, the intern will contribute to improving the reliability of organizational performance data and ensuring leadership teams have access to accurate information for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Quality Management
The intern will play an important role in improving the quality and accuracy of data captured within the PRIME system.
Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing assigned indicator data issues and identifying required corrections.
Working with Country Office teams to verify and obtain accurate indicator information.
Ensuring all updates and corrections comply with established data quality standards.
Supporting efforts to improve data accuracy and consistency across country programs.
Identifying discrepancies and potential reporting errors for further review.
Contributing to the overall integrity and reliability of organizational data.
Maintaining accurate data is essential for measuring program performance and impact.
2. PRIME System Data Corrections
The successful candidate will assist in resolving indicator-related issues within the PRIME platform.
Responsibilities include:
Updating indicator information in the PRIME system according to approved procedures.
Following detailed step-by-step guidance when making data corrections.
Ensuring all changes are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
Verifying information before submitting updates.
Supporting country teams in resolving outstanding reporting issues.
Monitoring progress on assigned correction tasks until completion.
Attention to detail is critical when working with organizational reporting systems.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
The intern will interact with various Country Office teams and stakeholders throughout the assignment.
Key duties include:
Communicating directly with Country Office personnel to gather missing or corrected data.
Building positive working relationships with colleagues across different regions.
Following up on outstanding information requests in a timely manner.
Providing updates on progress and completed tasks.
Collaborating effectively with global and regional teams.

4. Progress Tracking and Documentation

Supporting real-time reporting on project progress.

5. Issue Identification and Escalation
The intern will help identify issues requiring additional review or intervention.
Key responsibilities include:
Recognizing situations that fall outside established procedures.
Escalating unclear or complex issues to the designated coordinator.
Identifying recurring challenges and reporting them appropriately.
Supporting the resolution of data quality concerns through timely communication.

6. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Support
The intern will contribute to broader monitoring and reporting initiatives.
