Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining reliable software solutions that meet business needs and functional requirements.
The role requires a hands-on developer with practical experience in software development, automation, testing, system integration, and modern engineering practices. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver software that is secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.
The position is suitable for a professional who enjoys solving technical problems, improving business processes, and working collaboratively with different teams. Experience with automation, CI/CD, artificial intelligence, and workflow tools will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Development
The Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and technical solutions.
Key duties will include:
Designing software solutions that meet defined business and functional requirements.
Developing new applications, features, and system enhancements.
Writing clean, reliable, maintainable, and well-structured programming code.
Translating business requirements into clear technical specifications.
Implementing software solutions based on approved technical designs.
Maintaining and improving existing applications and systems.
Reviewing existing code and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Ensuring developed solutions meet agreed technical and business requirements.
Supporting the deployment and maintenance of software applications.
Troubleshooting software issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
The developer should focus on producing solutions that are practical, efficient, scalable, and aligned with the organization's technology standards.
2. Requirements Analysis and Technical Design
The successful candidate will work closely with business users, analysts, and technical teams to understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
Responsibilities will include:
Reviewing business and functional requirements.
Identifying technical requirements and dependencies.
Translating requirements into technical specifications.
Designing appropriate software components and system solutions.
Participating in technical discussions and solution design sessions.
Identifying potential technical risks before development begins.
Ensuring solutions are aligned with existing systems and architecture.
Working with stakeholders to clarify requirements where necessary.
Strong analytical skills will be important in ensuring that technical solutions address the actual needs of the business.
3. Automated Testing and Quality Assurance
The Software Developer will contribute to software quality by developing and executing automated testing processes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing automated testing frameworks.
Creating automated test cases for software applications.
Executing automated tests to identify defects and performance issues.
Reviewing test results and resolving identified problems.
Supporting regression testing following software changes.
Ensuring applications meet expected quality and reliability standards.
Integrating automated testing into appropriate stages of the development process.
Supporting continuous improvement of testing practices.
The successful candidate should understand that testing is an essential part of software development rather than an activity performed only after coding is complete.
4. Automation and Process Improvement
The role will involve identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve business processes.
The developer will be expected to:
Work with cross-functional teams to identify inefficient or repetitive processes.
Assess opportunities for technology-driven process improvement.
Develop automation solutions where appropriate.
Support workflow automation initiatives.
Use scripting and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
Contribute to automation projects involving workflow platforms and related technologies.
Monitor automated processes and troubleshoot issues.
Recommend improvements to existing automation solutions.
Experience with workflow automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath or Process Maker will be an advantage.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies
Exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) implementation will be beneficial in this role.
The successful candidate may contribute to initiatives involving:
AI-assisted business workflows.
Prompt engineering.
AI implementation projects.
AI orchestration flows.
Automation supported by artificial intelligence.
AI-assisted productivity and operational use cases.
Candidates who understand how AI can be incorporated into business processes and software solutions will have an added advantage.
6. Software Development Lifecycle

This includes:
Understanding business and technical requirements.
Participating in solution design.
Developing and reviewing software code.
Testing applications and resolving defects.
Supporting deployment activities.
Monitoring applications after implementation.
Maintaining and improving existing systems.
Documenting technical solutions and processes.
The candidate should understand the importance of structured development practices, version control, testing, documentation, security, and continuous improvement.
7. System Integration and APIs
The successful candidate will also support software integration and API-related development.
Responsibilities may include:
Developing and maintaining APIs.
Integrating different software systems and applications.
Troubleshooting integration issues.
Supporting data exchange between systems.
Ensuring integrations operate reliably.
Following appropriate API development and security practices.
Working with technical teams to resolve system integration challenges.
Knowledge of API engineering and system integration will therefore be an important technical competency for the position.
8. CI/CD and Deployment
The developer should have an understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Key activities may include:
Supporting CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance.
Automating software build and deployment processes.
Identifying and resolving deployment issues.
Supporting testing within CI/CD pipelines.
Working with development and operations teams to improve deployment processes.
Ensuring software changes can be delivered in a controlled and reliable manner.
Experience with CI/CD-linked automation will be an advantage.
9. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
