Dining Room Waitress

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Dining Room Waitress to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Mombasa County, Kenya. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing attentive service, accurately handling food and beverage orders, and ensuring guests feel welcomed throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and assist them with seating where required.

• Present menus, explain available dishes and beverages, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences.

• Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them promptly to the kitchen and bar teams.

• Serve meals and beverages professionally while ensuring presentation and service standards are maintained.

• Respond promptly to customer requests, questions and concerns to enhance the overall dining experience.

• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and address any issues in a courteous and efficient manner.

• Prepare and maintain dining tables before, during and after service.

• Keep the dining area clean, organised and fully prepared for guests at all times.

• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day restaurant operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guest.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting confidently with customers and team members.

• Practical knowledge of food and beverage service, including menu familiarity and service procedures.

• Basic understanding of food preparation is an added advantage and will assist in making informed menu recommendations.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy hospitality environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.

• High level of attention to cleanliness, organisation and detail.

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel or other hospitality establishment will be considered an added advantage.
