About the Role
A leading architectural design practice in Dubai is seeking an accomplished Director of Architecture to lead its architectural department, strengthen project delivery, develop talent, and contribute significantly to the continued growth of the business.
This senior leadership position combines architectural expertise with strong commercial and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to help secure new opportunities while providing strategic direction and leadership across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for the architecture department and guide its continued growth.
Lead the development and delivery of major architectural projects while maintaining high design standards.
Drive business development activities and identify opportunities to expand the practice’s project portfolio.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other key industry stakeholders.
Contribute to proposals, presentations, pitches, and other initiatives aimed at winning new business.
Oversee the design process from early concept development through detailed design and project completion.
Provide leadership on major luxury hospitality and high-rise developments across the region.
Mentor, develop, and motivate architects and other members of the design team.
Promote collaboration, innovation, and high-quality design throughout the department.
Apply strong commercial awareness when making project and business decisions.
Use knowledge of the Dubai and wider Middle East design market to identify emerging opportunities and support the firm’s growth.
Work closely with senior leadership to establish project, department, and business development strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
15–20 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong focus on hospitality design.
At least 10 years of experience working at Associate Director, Director, or a comparable senior leadership level.
Previous experience with reputable international architectural or design practices.
Extensive portfolio demonstrating successful delivery of high-quality hospitality projects across the Middle East.
Proven history of securing new business and winning architectural commissions.
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering large luxury hospitality developments and major high-rise projects from concept through completion in the region.
Strong understanding of the Dubai architectural and design market, as well as the broader Middle East region.
Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor multidisciplinary architectural teams.
