Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of assigned vehicles, including checking the cooling, lubrication, electrical and braking systems, tyre pressure and other essential components.
Identify vehicle faults or mechanical issues and promptly report any defects requiring attention.
Keep and maintain accurate work tickets for the vehicles assigned.
Operate and drive the designated motor vehicle in accordance with authorised duties and applicable regulations.
Ensure the vehicle, passengers and any goods being transported remain secure and safe both while travelling and when parked.
Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good presentable condition.
Requirements for Appointment
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
A valid driving licence without current endorsements for the relevant class or classes of vehicles the applicant will be required to operate.
Completion of a First Aid Certificate course lasting at least one week from St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or another recognised institution.
Successful completion of the Driver Grade III Suitability Test.
Successful completion of the Practical Driving Test administered by the relevant Ministry or Department.
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct issued by the Kenya Police Service.
At least two years of relevant driving experience.
