Job Purpose

To transport assigned goods safely and efficiently to designated destinations while ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate articulated trucks and trailers to deliver cargo safely and efficiently along assigned routes.

• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm vehicle roadworthiness and promptly report any faults or defects.

• Comply with traffic laws, transport regulations, and company health and safety requirements.

• Load, secure, and unload goods in accordance with established cargo handling procedures.

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, mileage, and incidents using logbooks or electronic systems.

• Follow assigned schedules and routes, and immediately communicate any delays, accidents, or operational issues.

• Ensure the assigned vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained, and in good working condition through routine checks.

• Work closely with fleet management and maintenance teams to coordinate vehicle servicing and repairs.

• Maintain a professional attitude and provide courteous interactions with customers, security personnel, and regulatory authorities.

• Practice defensive driving techniques to reduce risks and support a strong safety culture.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience operating articulated trucks and trailers.

• O-Level certificate or equivalent qualification.

• Valid CE/Heavy Commercial Driving Licence.

• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.

• Certificate in Defensive Driving and/or PSV certification.

• Occupational Health and Safety training will be an added advantage.

• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems and route planning tools.

• Good understanding of road networks, transport regulations, and safe cargo handling practices.
