Driver
Job Purpose
The Driver will be responsible for operating Sacco vehicles and transporting goods safely and efficiently. The position requires responsible driving, compliance with traffic laws and Sacco policies, proper route planning, and ensuring that the assigned vehicle remains clean, safe and well maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive safely and responsibly while transporting Sacco goods.
Observe national traffic, road safety and driving regulations at all times.
Comply with the Sacco’s fleet management policy and other applicable organizational policies.
Route Management
Follow assigned routes, maps and directions accurately.
Adhere to planned schedules and make timely route adjustments when traffic or other delays occur.
Use GPS and other navigation tools where necessary to reach destinations efficiently.
Vehicle Management
Keep the vehicle’s exterior clean, presentable and in good condition.
Carry out routine vehicle checks and maintenance required for safe operation.
Monitor oil levels, fuel and other basic vehicle maintenance requirements.
Keep the interior of the vehicle clean and free from unnecessary items or debris.
Safely load and unload goods and other materials being transported.
Report mechanical problems and other vehicle issues requiring attention.
Record Keeping
Complete vehicle logs, mileage records, cargo reports and other required documentation.
Where applicable, collect payments, record the amounts received and issue receipts.
Other Duties
Perform any other duties assigned by the Sacco from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Basic secondary education.
Certificate or Diploma in a Business-related course or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Minimum Class D1 driving licence together with a valid PSV badge.
At least five years of accident-free driving experience.
Good knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics.
Training or competence in defensive driving.
