PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Driver/Rider is tasked with delivering Vision Plus products, documents, and parcels safely, on time, and efficiently to customers, dealers, retail partners, and other locations throughout Nairobi and upcountry areas.
The role involves operating both motor vehicles (cars, vans, trucks up to 3 tonnes) and motorcycles, making sure that all goods arrive in excellent condition while maintaining a professional image of the Vision Plus brand at every interaction.The position also includes assisting with general logistics tasks such as pick-ups, warehouse errands, and moving items between offices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- KCSE Certificate with a minimum of a D+ grade or equivalent.

- Valid driver’s licence for Class B, C, E (for vehicles) and Class A (for motorcycles).
Both are required.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (or willingness to get one before starting the job).

- At least 3 years of experience in a commercial, logistics, or distribution setting.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience riding a motorcycle in an urban delivery or courier environment.

- A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.

- Basic reading and math skills to understand delivery notes, invoices, and use maps or GPS navigation.


DESIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

- Good knowledge of Nairobi roads, neighborhoods, and routes in other parts of Kenya.

- Ability to confidently ride a motorcycle in heavy Nairobi traffic and reach various types of locations, including residential, commercial, and industrial areas.

- Strong time management skills to handle multiple deliveries and meet strict deadlines.

- Basic smartphone skills to use Google Maps, WhatsApp, and simple delivery tracking apps.

- Physically fit to handle loading and unloading goods like TVs and appliances that weigh up to 30 kg.

- Honest, trustworthy, and reliable, with the ability to handle cash, cheques, and valuable electronics.

- Good communication skills in both English and Swahili.

- Knowledge of basic vehicle repairs and first aid is a plus.

- Experience in FMCG, electronics, or e-commerce last-mile delivery is preferred.
