Role Summary
Creating a caring and engaging environment for young children to learn and develop, which helps improve their early growth, encourages a passion for learning, and supports their social and emotional health.
Key Responsibilities
Design and carry out lesson plans and activities suitable for each age group to help children develop in areas like thinking, moving, interacting, and feeling.
Build a secure and welcoming classroom where kids can explore, use their imagination, and become more independent.
Offer a range of learning opportunities, such as playtime, group talks, and one-on-one teaching, to meet the different needs and ways children learn.
Develop good connections with children, parents, and team members to keep communication open and work together effectively.
Track each child's progress and development, keep detailed records, and regularly share updates with parents.
Help children build important abilities, such as talking and listening, solving problems, using their hands and body, and getting along with others.
Teach good behavior and discipline through positive encouragement and by setting clear, age-appropriate rules and expectations.
Help children become more independent in everyday tasks, like using the toilet, dressing themselves, and eating.
Plan and arrange field trips, events, and special activities that improve the learning experience and offer real-world learning chances.
Keep up to date with the latest methods in early childhood education by going to training sessions, conferences, and continuing education courses.
The Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
A diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) from a recognized school.
At least two years of experience working with young children in a school.
Good communication, people skills, and ability to manage a classroom.
A kind, patient, and adaptable personality.
Familiar with the new Competency Based Curriculum.
