Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and engineering design guidance for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring all solutions are technically compliant, practical, and aligned with industry standards.
Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and design documentation before project execution, identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
Monitor and oversee power quality performance across client installations, including issues related to power factor correction, harmonic distortion, and voltage stability, while coordinating appropriate corrective actions with technical teams.
Supervise the assessment, redesign, and optimization of Power Factor Correction (PFC) systems at sites where solar installations have altered electrical load profiles, ensuring effective implementation of improvement measures.
Lead the design, optimization, and standardization of electrical distribution boards to improve reliability, safety, and operational efficiency across projects.
Oversee electrical protection coordination studies, testing, and commissioning activities for both new and existing electrical installations.
Provide technical oversight for the integration of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and grid-connected inverter technologies, including the review of control settings and system configurations.
Support technical investigations by conducting root-cause analyses of engineering, equipment, and design-related issues, and recommend practical solutions to improve project performance and quality.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related engineering discipline.
A minimum of eight to ten years of relevant experience in engineering design, project engineering, or technical project management, preferably within the renewable energy, solar, or related engineering sectors.
Valid EPRA T3 Licence.
Demonstrated experience implementing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems, including technical audits, inspections, and management of non-conformance issues.
Experience providing technical support to procurement teams, including reviewing equipment specifications, evaluating suppliers, and assessing technical compliance.
Proven ability to support or manage the delivery of multiple engineering projects or workstreams simultaneously.
Sound understanding of engineering governance principles, including the development, implementation, and enforcement of technical standards, procedures, and best practices.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
Good working knowledge of power quality management, power factor correction, solar PV systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and grid-tied inverter technologies, with the ability to provide technical oversight and guide resolution of engineering issues.
