Key Performance Areas:

• Achieve departmental KPIs such as material efficiency (Kg/m²), design efficiency (hours per design and designs completed per day), and acceptable design error percentages as required.

• Deliver design work within the agreed timelines set by line managers to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.

• Work closely with the sales team to gather scope details for new inquiries and finalize specifications for confirmed projects.

• Design steel-framed structures for various applications using modern and available structural design and analysis technologies.

• Prepare precise bills of quantities/materials for costing and pricing purposes.

• Identify and recommend suitable construction materials during the design stage in line with structural requirements and industry standards.

• Produce complete structural design calculations and analysis reports for approved projects.

• Coordinate with detailers during the preparation of drawings for both internal and external use.

• Review and verify drawing details to ensure compliance with all design requirements and specifications.

• Conduct random quality inspections and checks on projects under fabrication whenever necessary.

• Participate in mentoring, coaching, and training new team members within the department to encourage continuous improvement.

• Carry out any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.

• Practical experience using design spreadsheets and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Prokon, MasterSeries, and STAAD.Pro.

• At least 2–3 years of experience in structural design and related engineering projects.
