Position Summary
The Teacher will support students' academic growth by delivering high-quality instruction in line with the school's curriculum, teaching philosophy, and established instructional methodologies. The role focuses on creating an engaging learning environment, monitoring student progress, promoting academic excellence, and contributing to the overall development of learners through classroom and co-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Deliver lessons using approved lesson plans, pacing guides, and curriculum resources, while developing additional instructional materials where required.
Apply the school's prescribed teaching methodology to ensure effective learning and consistent instructional standards.
Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations, and grade assessments according to departmental guidelines and timelines.
Support students who require additional academic assistance by providing targeted instruction and encouragement to improve their performance.
Prepare learners for external examinations through structured revision sessions, including the use of past examination papers where applicable.
Classroom Management
Maintain a positive, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes effective learning.
Apply the school's classroom management and student behavior policies consistently.
Communicate student academic progress and disciplinary concerns to the Academic Quality Controller (AQC), Head of Department (HOD), and other relevant staff when necessary.
Assessment and School Support
Supervise internal and external examinations by serving as an invigilator and ensuring examination procedures are followed.
Assist with student assessments, testing, and other academic activities as required.
Provide classroom coverage for absent teachers when assigned.
Student Development and School Activities
Participate in planning and supervising student enrichment activities, including arts, sports, open days, and other school events in collaboration with the Student Life Coordinator.
Assist with student supervision during lunch breaks, transportation, arrival and dismissal, and other operational activities that support the smooth running of the school.
Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
Professional Development
Attend training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs organized by the school to enhance teaching effectiveness and maintain familiarity with the school's educational system.
Carry out additional responsibilities and special projects assigned by school management in support of institutional objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should possess:
A bachelor's degree in the relevant teaching subject or an equivalent academic qualification.
A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or a Master's degree in Education, which is mandatory.
Excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written, depending on the teaching subject.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teaching teams.
